Okay. Slow or remedial? Slow. — Remedial. But they actually call us slow kids. The other day, someone asked me how I became a millionaire. And the truth is, it started with a villain origin story. My path to becoming a millionaire started when I was a kid and I was labeled as slow. Now, this is a very tough story to tell, but it has a happy ending and I think it's something that we can all learn from. Now, I really love that Aman is willing to share this story because when he told this story to me, it really made me stop. And at the same time, it really explains how he moves throughout this world. And it's not just with finances, but it's also through systems, through his authority, and what his expectations in life are. So, let's get started with this story. Aman, how did you become a millionaire? Well, it all started the day I was born. You see, six months after I was born, my parents picked up everything and they moved to West Africa. They moved to Nigeria. And after living there for five amazing years, my parents decided to come back to the US. And that is when the story really begins for me. My villain origin story. So, when I came back, culturally, I was very different. I didn't sound like the other kids. I didn't behave like the other kids and honestly I didn't read very well at the time. But here's the part that matters. I wasn't dumb. I was sharp. I noticed everything but I just didn't fit the system. The other thing is that I had a pretty bad stutter as a child and it made it really hard for me to speak up for myself. So when you're young, quiet, different, and struggling to read, things get interpreted very quickly. — And that's what's really important with schools. A lot of times they don't have the proper language to identify what this difference is. So instead of curiosity, kids get conclusions and instead of support they get categorized. And so at some point the decision was made for me. I was placed in a class called resource. And that might sound helpful on paper, but in reality it was a label and a track. This special class that I would go to in the middle of the afternoon was supposedly made up of all the kids that were troubled or kids with behavior issues. Now remember, these were all just labels. But these kids were my friends. We were all placed in the same box. And the unspoken message was clear. This is where kids like you end up. — And once you are placed in this group, expectations change, even if it's not stated out loud. Teachers change how they push you. Counselors change how they suggest. Adults start planning a smaller future for you. — Now, what's absolutely crazy about this is that this is the part of the school that people have labeled the school to prison pipeline. And it's not because schools want that outcome, but because early labels shape confidence, opportunity, and belief. And once you're labeled, expectations drop, opportunities narrow, and confidence erodess. — The system doesn't just observe behavior, it creates it. Once you are told indirectly or directly that this is your lane, people stop trying to leave it. And that's the part that people miss. It's not about one bad decision. It's about years of being treated like there is only one direction available to you. And you see the thing is I was certainly headed in that direction. I was following the script that I was labeled as. But you know what saved me? It wasn't something brilliant. It wasn't some teacher swooping in. It wasn't some academic turnaround. It was something much quieter. I never fully accepted the label. Even when I was struggling, placed there, even when people assume things about me, some part of me knew that this didn't define me. — And that resistance is still there. You do not accept the story that is handed to you. You receive information. You question it. You sit with it. And you take the time to really decide whether that resonates and whether that is true for you. Oh, this definitely played a pivotal role in how my personality works. It changed especially how I saw systems. It showed me early on that systems don't recognize potential. They recognize patterns. And if you don't push back internally, you can spend your entire life living within somebody else's expectations. And it was this experience, this shift in mindset that changed how I approached money later. This is where we get to the villain origin story for how we became

millionaires. I questioned default paths. I didn't chase approval. I played the long game. While other people were chasing validation, I was quietly building leverage. — And that's why our journey never looked flashy. We weren't trying to prove to other people that we were smart. We were trying to build something that would last. — So years later, after reaching financial independence, I often look back at that young Aman that was in that resource class. And what's funny is I don't look with anger. I look back with clarity because now I understand what young Aman couldn't articulate at the time, which is being labeled early doesn't determine your future. But believing that label certainly can. — And this really matters because so many of you that are watching this were also labeled early. Not just in school, but also in life. That you're not good with money, you're not smart enough, you're not the right type. this type of label lingers — and we are not believing those labels anymore. So, there's one thing I want to clarify. — I'm not sharing this story for your sympathy. No, I do not need your sympathy. I'm doing just fine now. The reason why I share this story is because there are so many other people out there that are mislabeled, that are misunderstood, that are living a life that people think that you should be living. I mean, these people are quietly writing you off. And so, if that's you, you don't have to let these labels define how great your life can be. You can create your own destiny. — So, if you take anything from this video, we hope that you realize that the story that you create for yourself is much bigger and can be much better than the labels that people put on you. Define yourself the way that you deserve to be defined. And of course, if you like this video, make sure you give us a thumbs up, subscribe to our channel, and join the journey.
