I'm Taking A Break From Dropshipping...

what's up everyone paul here from dropshippingtitans. com and in this video i'm going to talk about why it is that i'm going to be taking a break from drop shipping for a while so i've been drop shipping now for coming up on five years which is completely insane but i feel so blessed i found this business model of what i call marketplace drop shipping because it has completely

changed my life before this i started other online businesses and just found them way too difficult to start but with dropshipping on marketplaces it's so simple i was able to do it as beginner and that really kind of allowed me to build all the online businesses that i have allowed me to quit my job so if you guys don't know what i'm what i do is i drop ship onto marketplaces like ebay like amazon like facebook marketplace that way i don't have to build those websites myself i'm selling where customers already are on these marketplaces like ebay and all i'm doing is creating listings on these websites and once the items sell i then buy them either from wholesale suppliers or a lot of times even from other retail websites like walmart. com then walmart ships the item directly to my customers so it's very simple to do and because i

can do this anywhere that i have a laptop and an internet connection i was able to move to other states i traveled in a camper van full time and lived in it for two years exploring the country because i love to travel and i'm able to outsource a lot of it so i've hired a lot of virtual assistants in the philippines to run my businesses for me along with software to help automate all this as well so that has freed up more of my time so i've been able to build more businesses and travel and not spend as much time on my businesses

but what always ends up happening is that ultimately the responsibility always falls on me as a business owner even though my virtual assistants are doing 99 of the work there's still decisions i have to make and especially when things kind of get busier and things get into crunch time a lot of times i have to step it up and help my virtual assistants as well and there's no time of the year that's crazier and more busy than christmas the time between thanksgiving black friday and christmas is absolutely insane and nuts and no matter how well i try to prepare for it every single year i'm always not as prepared as i want it to be so it's a very busy time of the year and i always encourage every reseller every drop shipper online is that as soon as that christmas rushes over you got to take a break it's time to relax a little bit recharge re-energize so that going into 2022 or whatever the next year is you will have lots of energy and ready to hit the ground running to meet your new year's goals now i

wouldn't suggest you just cut things off on christmas day i would actually look uh before that about two weeks before that we're coming up on that right now as of the making of this video we're approaching that two week mark because from about two weeks before christmas until christmas day if you start shipping out you start getting orders from your customers it's going to get harder and harder for you to get those items delivered to your customers before christmas and a lot of people ordering during that time they're going to expect the item to arrive before christmas even if it's unreasonable because a lot of people are just used to two-day shipping at this point so about two weeks before christmas what i do is i do not just turn off my stores i never don't think that's a good idea other people do that other people say they don't sell during december at all and i think that's a mistake you never want to leave money on the table you always want to take advantage of the opportunities that are there and the opportunities to make money but you still have to manage customers

expectations so what i do is i increase my shipping and handling time for my items about two weeks before christmas that way when they look at the listing it says without a doubt this item is coming way after christmas and if i can if it's easy to do it i put at the top of all my listings this item will not arrive before christmas now many times the items will arrive before christmas anyway but during this time period the carriers are so busy the drop shipping suppliers are so busy and a lot of things are outside of your control i've gotten in trouble with this in the past where i've really kind of pushed the limit of this and i've had customers complain saying you ruined christmas i didn't get this item before christmas i want my money back i want a discount i want a refund and it's just a huge headache so that's why i give those two weeks i'm not going to turn sales off because some people will still buy items and say hey i don't need this before christmas is not a gift but i need that customer expectation uh to be accurate so that customers don't get mad and then after the christmas it's really

up to you can kind of leave a longer shipping handling time because generally what that will do will keep your sales lower that kind of gives you a chance to rest right i want to enjoy the holidays with my family i want to relax a little bit i don't want the pressure of having to always be on top of my business during that time so i have plenty of energy and i can hit the ground running going into the next year now big warning here do not forget to check in on your stores during this time period you still have to go in answer customer questions you still have to worry about returns and things like that and any new orders but hey if you increase shipping time even if you increase the price as well that will slow down your sales so at least you don't have to worry about new sales and you can just worry about some of the other stuff so i'm taking a short kind of sort of break from drop shipping as i give myself the rest of the year to kind of rest and recover but then next year i hit the ground running ready to go to meet my goals for next year let me know in the comments section whether you use this strategy as well if you do something similar do you increase your shipping or handling time prices do you shut down your store entirely i would like to hear what you guys do maybe there's a better way to do this that you guys know if you guys like this video make sure to give it a big thumbs up then subscribe to the channel because i make tons of videos here on youtube about drop shipping everything i talked about in the beginning this type of marketplace drop shipping tons of videos that i make all about how to do that so make sure to subscribe to the channel so that you don't miss out on how to do that and i have a video right here that you might want to check out where i actually go over it's more in-depth tutorial into how to how i run one of these drop shipping stores so you should definitely check that out see you guys next time thanks for checking out the video
