It's a common misconception that every training session should feel great. This video explains why feeling tired is often an indicator of correct intensity, challenging the idea that we need external validation to push through. Learn how consistently pushing hard, even when fatigued, is crucial for progress and how to overcome "self sabotaging behavior" to achieve your fitness goals. Embrace the "gym motivation" to overcome the urge to "self sabotage" your progress. Segment 1 (00:00 - 01:00)

You are not supposed to feel good every time you train. You're not. If you take the foot off the gas every time you feel crappy, you're literally sabotaging your own progress. At the end of the day, fatigue is the main indicator that you are actually training at the right intensity. Somehow the industry has us all convinced that we need to ask for permission to train from our Apple Watch and our Aura Ring, but the reality is that we are going to feel tired if we are pushing hard in training. And if you have a specific goal, you absolutely have to push hard because your body always wants to stay the same. That's called homeostasis. So you are literally fighting against your own physiology at all points in time. So this is how you actually get gains from training. You start here at your base level, start training, start adding load. You initially experience a decrease in performance, and then you adapt to the stimulus, and then you actually improve your performance above the level that it was before. But if you cut this phase short, and when you start accumulating [snorts] fatigue, you say, "Oh, no. I'm going to go do Pilates. " Well, then you're not going to be accumulating the amount of fatigue that you actually need to get this supercompensation effect. Instead, what's going to happen is you're going to be here. That's what's going to happen. What do you do with that? So nine out of 10 times if you're feeling tired, just suck it up.
