Open-sourcing Shopify's Autoresearch contribution

What are you decided to write it up in so like that that what was your thought process on having something like this open source? Uh I don't know. Like I want to like just operate maybe in sort of a 90s idea of software just like I I do not believe in software as owned. Um I think it's just like shared. It's like an idea is once you spoken it lives in the room and it's for everyone to judge and everyone to improve or ignore. And um while there's vacuum, people want to try it. We had something I believe in open source is about making gifts to the world. I love that people are sharing things that are of incredible value, right? Like I mean Kathy shared something which he could have kept for himself. And so why should like let's pay it forward. It's like the most positive something on planet Earth that you can imagine like other than maybe ideas and books, right? Like so this kind of thing. And by the way, obviously, no one believes that I'm like some kind of die hard communist here and think all everything should be free and like this is what you do, right? You should share things. There's a moment if we if we you open source this right now then um I think people will pay a lot of attention because I can kind of do the next tweet about this is now here and exists and therefore people can start using it and uh that is great value. So And two or three things that are like I think our key for other research were from the community. So they suggested that those PR's So we already like got this contribution back. It's like See, this was never needed. But this is people giving gifts back to us for having given Rama gift. It's so positive sum. Everyone benefits from that. It's like again, I I'm I'm always in awe that open source functions the way it does. Um and it's again, it's one of my favorite things in the world.
