Jonathan Major's transformation for his latest role is absolutely insane. This guy went from looking super lean to absolutely shredded and jacked in what, six months. And everywhere you look, he's talking about disciplined training regimen, his 5,000 calorie diet, and how hard he worked and how dedicated he was to get himself there. And look, I have nothing against Jonathan Mater. He's a great actor. I love his films. But let's be clear here, this transformation was not natural. I don't care if someone uses PEDs or runs peptides, takes growth hormone. What I care about is the narrative. Because when you're telling guys every single day that this kind of transformation is just chicken, rice, and working really hard and being really disciplined, you're lying. So today, I want to break down what most likely went into Jonathan Major's transformation. We're going to talk about what's realistic and what's absolute BS. and most importantly, how you guys can use the same scientific principles, the same recovery systems, and the same biological optimization to build your best physique in 2026. Now, in case you're new here, I'm Nick Tragill. I'm a former IB Pro bodybuilder, and I coach thousands of high-erforming men, gming them in the best shape of their life through my biohacking and hormone optimization. All right, so first I'm going to play these clips of Jonathan Major when he was basically in his tiptop shape. just like a quick little clip and then we're gonna go into the podcast with Lavy Wheels where he explains all the stuff that he was doing. I mean, look at his physique here. It's unbelievable, guys. Like, if he competed in a bodybuilding show, even professional bodybuilding show, let's say class physique or men's physique, he would do really, really well. Like, he has a phenomenal shape. He has really good muscle bellies, he has good muscle insertion, he's got good density to his body, vascularity, leanness, he's proportionate. I mean, this is a crazy physique. And I just want to make sure you guys realize this. If you took everything exactly the way Jonathan did, let's say he talked about everything he took, how he did it, his diet, his training, how much he slept, like every calorie, everything he put in his body. Even I couldn't look like that and I was a professional bodybuilder. This is Jonathan's physique. But what I want you guys to take in and absorb and actually be able to apply to your own lives is that it takes multiple different variables to transform your physique like this. This is not just hard dieting. It is hard dieting. It's not just hard training. It is hard training. It's not just super supplements like peptides and hormones. You have to do all of these things really well and as close as you can to the best you can. So, this is what transformed him. It's not one thing. You can't say, "Oh, was it diet? Was it training? Was it just the hormones? Was it all these pieces work together in order for him to look like these for these movie roles? " So, let's hear what he had to say in this interview and podcast with Larry Wheels. It's very interesting. — Yeah. I got the role at the height of co and I was 185 lbs playing a cowboy uh in a western called the hard f right um and then I was just fortunate enough to have a set of films where I thought okay if I'm going to grow my body so I grew it for um Kang right for uh Contania um and then that was like maybe five or six pounds got that done you know I casually just said that yeah I put on five six lbs — probably put another four lbs on for Creed and then the story about Creed is I'm boxing every day but at night I'm going to the gym and training for a bodybuilder film. So Mike was fighting a bodybuilder. He was not fighting a boxer at the time. You know, I was working it. Um — also he was boxing every day and then weight training at night and still added six pounds of muscle allegedly and four lbs before that guys and didn't burn himself out and Yeah. No, he's perfectly fine. — So I think in total with those three films is about 12 to like a year to Yeah, probably like a year probably a year and two months. — Yeah. Yeah. Had some great guys help me. When I was in London, I had a really nice guy um come in and train me, you know, he was my Marvel trainer and then I told him, "Hey, I'm doing this bodybuilding film. You know, can you help me with that, too? " So, he did. And then uh Mark Rhino — because he was really nice. That's why John the Major got these really good results. Yeah. The secret is you have to find a trainer that's nice. So, don't hire me cuz I'm not nice. — He was an English gladiator, friends with Michael Hearn, who was an American gladiator, right? — Oh, did you hear the secret there? It was because this guy worked with Michael Hearn and Yeah, that's who it is. — Yeah. So, yeah, something like that. — That's what I was going to say. Getting ready for these movies, so you have to go to the gym at like 4:00 a. m. — Well, I wake up at 4:00 a. m. I wake up every day at 4:00 a. m. Uh much to my wife Shagrin, you know? I get up like clockwork really, you know? Um and I touch the iron at 5:00 a. m. every day. Um and that was a habit primarily to protect my uh to allow me to continue to train while I'm shooting. You know what I mean? When you shoot, — regardless of what he thinks or what his approach is for waking up at 4:00 a. m., why he does it, it doesn't matter what time you guys work out, you don't build more muscle because you train at 4:00 a. m. or because his hands touch the bars at 5:00 a. m. That's just all little details that try to make you confused and distracted from what's really going on here. You guys know at this point, right? You guys know my perspective on this and opinion on this. It's not waking up at 4:00 a. m. that's going to get you guys jacked and shredded. I feel like the bodies we have are these are not vital or tempered. No, but they are they hold divinity, you know, they hold spirituality. They hold we are all holding humanity inside of us. That's a beautiful
Segment 2 (05:00 - 10:00)
know what I mean? That's a beautiful thing. And I like to think that if I can push it, my body far enough, something else is going to come in, right? And that elevate this moral coil. This body is going to then elevate and I'm going to recover do it again. Are our bodies made up of energy? Absolutely. Everything in this world is energy. But I don't know what the hell he's talking about with this. I don't understand it. I just wanted to bring it up because I thought it was kind of funny because again, these guys like to reach for these stars that just try to keep people distracted from what they're really doing. It's not that deep, bro. You train really hard. You have to recover really well by eating the proper foods and micronutrients and you take the right hormones to keep your hormones level and optimized and regulated. It's really that simple. You could go about your day and do whatever else you want to do. Have fun, enjoy your life, and still get jacked. to be that deep, bro. — I had to be more specific, right? Like as I trained as a boxer, my body turned into a boxer, you know? Um, and again, this is, you know, when I do a fitness or nutrition podcast, I can say this without people getting crazy. My genetics just help, you know what I mean? Um, when you get super specific and you're looking for striations and strength and size, you're actually just you're actually battling your genetics. You're either trying to push them forward, right? And from my point of view, you're trying to push them forward or hold them back. You know what I'm saying? I don't want this to happen. — Are his genetics that good? Yeah, I'll be the first one to tell you that his genetics are phenomenal. They're amazing. He could probably be a really good athlete in any sport if he put his mind to it and his time to it cuz he's that athletic. He's that genetically gifted. Is he going to be like a professional and be the best? No. Some people have good genetics for building muscle. Some people have genetics for getting in shape. Some people have good genetics for strength. Some people have good metabolism genetics. Some people have good health really shitty genetics. Like a lot of layers to that, man. — And I'm now 240, — right? And they wanted me to cut to wrestle at 197. And I'm going, no, I'm not I don't want to lose the muscle anymore. Right. — And my passion for bodybuilding took over and I stepped away from my wrestling background to pursue professional bodybuilding. Wow. — And so that was it because it's like I work so hard for all this. I can't imagine like is that so that role comes up now and they're like, hey, you have cancer in the next movie. Yeah. — You know, you got to be this like oh man like how do you even deal with this? — Go ahead. You know, I love bodybuilding, but you got your you always got your first love. You know what I mean? And I would mind you, the role would have to be wicked for me to drop it, but I would. No question. You know, you see this with actors all the time, right? They're playing this role where they're like they have to be super skinny. They're playing drug addicts here. Then all of a sudden, you see them, they're playing a role where they're like super overweight, you know? — And I'm like, I know how they're doing this, you know, cuz this is what we do as bodybuild up, down, you know, but like mentally, man, to do that. Got to be. — So, is it psychologically hard to lose all that muscle when you really care about your appearance and the way you look and you really value that first? Yeah. I think for a bodybuilder, it' be very hard. For Jonathan Majors, who's a professional actor and a very good actor and like he just said, his first love is acting. It's not bodybuilding. Like bodybuilding, I'm sure, is pretty close to that. It sounds like, at least from that conversation, but his first love is acting. So, he falls in love with the role. process that he has to prepare for that role. He's not in love with the bodybuilding process first. Now, would I be able to do that at this point in my life? Yes. If you go back 10 years ago when I was in the middle of my bodybuilding career, if I tried out for some role back then when I was trying to pursue acting when I was in my 20s, I never would have gave up my muscle mass for a role cuz bodybuilding was my first love. — I want you. You got to take me through like uh 20 overs, you know? Let's do legs. — Have you heard of the curse of layer wheels? I don't know if you — Woah, woah. He doesn't need to hear that much. — It's not going to happen. — It's not really that everybody win, but this won't happen to you because you don't have you said that competitive like you don't care. But most people, they're like, "Oh, Larry just did 600 lb. I'm going to do 600 lb, you know. " — Well, let me disclaimer. Normal human beings can't do 600 lb. You don't know anything. — Yeah. Anything. — So, see, I trained with Larry for many for a while now. We've been training together when he was prepping for shows. You know, I'm coaching Larry. So, I get in, I'm doing it with him. See, I know my limits. He's benching, you know, five plates for reps. And I'm like, "Yeah, I'm stopping right here at three because I know I'm going to get hurt. " But most people, you know, the younger, you got the alpha males, they want to keep up. They want to be like, "I can do this today. The camera's on. I'm going to hit a PR today. " That's when people do dumb stuff, right? Because the ego gets them five points for reps. — My best bench is 500 for 12 and then 675 for one rep. And — yeah, so ego lifting again, even the way Larry's lifting for whatever goal he has now, he changes his mind all the time. Lifting like that has no purpose unless you're literally trying to be a strength athlete like powerlifter or strongman competitor of some sort. Maybe you could put football in that category as well, but I don't think so. I would never train a professional football player like that and I don't right now to each their own. But eagle lifting has no place now. Larry has been injured a million times. He's not even 30 years old. He might be 30 now. The guy probably has two dozen injuries, maybe more because of lifting like that. And let's just say even if his form was better, it's not the best now. It's never was. you're still going to get hurt lifting that heavy because of the amount of stress you're adding to your joints, your tendons, your ligaments, your body, your nervous system. Guys, you don't have to tear something to hurt your body. You have to understand that. And if you're not tearing anything
Segment 3 (10:00 - 13:00)
yet, eventually you will if you continue to train like that. That road is very short-lived. It's going to fall off hard. You're going to get one injury and guess what's going to happen? It's going to cascade into another injury and another injury. Now, your entire body is weakened once you get that first one. If you don't change your ways and make adjustments and be more careful, be mindful, you will literally destroy your body from the outside in and then inside out. The beautiful thing about acting is that you can be 200 lb. And I can make you think I'm not. Right? a smaller guy who just is homeless on the bus, you know, and I'm just sitting there. Right? Shoot that. Right? There it is. Didn't have to lose any weight. Didn't have to cut nothing. Right? I've changed something inside of me to make this so and I can go back to being, you know, hanging out with the big dogs and and trying to be a big dog with the big dogs and I let my shoulders out and I use my voice more and now I'm now I'm back. You know what I mean? — But this brings up a very valid point when we talk about why transforming your outer shell, your meat skin, I call it your physical body, is so important for a male's confidence. Just like he told you, he can change his whole body language and demeanor and portray someone that's homeless and skinny and suffering and unhappy and ill just by changing his body language. So look in the mirror right now. What do you think about yourself? Whether it's good, bad, ugly, whatever. Just think about that right now. Go there. Now imagine you're looking in the mirror, close your eyes, and you have the physique that you always wanted. You literally look identical to that person. How much better is your posture going to be? How much more brighter are you confident secure are you going to be? How many things are you guys passing up right now because you're unhappy with the way you look? Because where your mind goes, your body goes. So, if you can look in the mirror first thing in the morning and be like, "Wow, I look amazing. I feel amazing. I love the way I look. " So, you guys need to start working on yourselves. If you're struggling right now, let's say you're in a really good place, doesn't mean you stop. Doesn't mean you settle. You keep going cuz you don't know how far it can go. You don't know what else is there. That's uncharted territory. It's the unknown. I don't stop. I just keep evolving with what I have going on in my life. You think I'm just going to stop here because, oh, I won Mr. USA. I've turned professional bodybuilding. Did I fall off? [ __ ] yeah. Did I get it back? Even better. But do I stop now? No. I'm only 38. I want to see how far I can keep pushing it as I get older. So, the work never stops. No matter where you're at, if you're in a good place, a bad place, keep going. So, let's just talk about what just happened in this video.
