Intro

So, imagine waking up and your AI has already given you the trending topics in your niche for the day, checked your emails, found good opportunities, and sent everything straight to your phone with a daily summary every day right when you wake up. And this is not some futuristic idea. You can do this right now with OpenClaw. In this video, I'll walk you through how to use OpenClaw step-by-step for complete beginners. First, we will implement and install OpenClaw with a one-click deployer. Then, we will connect OpenClaw to Telegram so you can send commands anytime of the day right from your phone. Then, I'll explain the three most important things about OpenClaw like skills, cron jobs, and models. There's also a really cool AI tool that can easily integrate any app or CMS that you can use directly with OpenClaw. I'm going to keep this tutorial very simple cuz once you understand how to utilize these features, you can pretty much automate anything. So, let's get started. Now, before we go on any further, there are some really important things that I need to talk about that most beginners typically mess up. And the reason is simple. If your computer turns off, goes to sleep, or disconnects from the internet, OpenClaw stops running. But, there's something more important to know about OpenClaw is open source and it's very experimental. OpenClaw can literally delete your files, install malware, or just mess with your computer if it starts to malfunction. And there's been several cases of users downloading malware without them even knowing it. So, to be safe when using OpenClaw, use a VPS. You want to use a VPS, which is basically a cloud computer that stays online all the time. This is critical because OpenClaw relies on things like cron jobs and automations that need to run even when you're not there. OpenClaw also won't have access to your computer, which limits your liability. Once you install OpenClaw on a VPS, it'll be working for you 24/7. So, it'll be running tasks, using workflows, or just sending you daily reminders. So, to get started, we'll be installing OpenClaw

Openclaw VPS Setup

using a one-click deployer from Hostinger. It's the easiest, the fastest, and cheapest way to install OpenClaw. Now, there is a link in the video description. This will take you to Hostinger to install OpenClaw on a VPS. So, once you click on that link in the video description, it'll take you to Hostinger's website in order to install OpenClaw. So, when you get to this page, you'll click on get started. Now, their plans and their pages typically change over time. So, you'll just want to make sure that you select the OpenClaw and then select an OpenClaw plan. Now, here we have two plans. We have the managed and we have the self-managed. I recommend selecting the managed. This will make it so you can deploy OpenClaw using their one-click deployer. So, under the managed OpenClaw, you'll click on choose plan. The next page is the cart page. Now, you want to adjust the period. So, on the period selection, you can select 1 month, 12 months, or 24 months. I recommend doing the 12 months. This will grant you a large discount and there is also a 30-day money-back guarantee for any reason whatsoever. Now, there's one box I want you to uncheck and this is the ready-to-use AI. Now, me and my developers have used OpenClaw with many different models and we've discovered that when you combine Nexus with other AIs, it typically conflicts. So, I do recommend to take that off. I'll explain more about this later in the video. Now, on the right side, we have a coupon code. We have a discount code that will give you a discount on your OpenClaw hosting if you enter the coupon code Daryl10 and click on apply. You'll get an additional 10% off any of the plans at Hostinger. So, click on apply. And then you'll see you'll just pay $100 for the entire year to run OpenClaw. So, go ahead and click on continue. On the next page, you'll register with Hostinger and make an account. So, you'll put your email and a password and then you'll click on register. Now, I already have an account, so I'll log in. On the next page, you'll enter in your billing information. So, you'll put in your first name, your last name, and then your address. Then, you'll click on continue. On the next section, you'll input your credit card info and then you'll submit a payment and then you'll be redirected to deploy OpenClaw. So, I'll put in my credit card information and then I'll submit the payment. Cool. On the next page, you'll click on get started. All right, cool. Now, on the next page, we're going to configure the API. Now, this right here is your OpenClaw API token. You can reveal this and then copy and paste it somewhere safe. You can always access this later in the Hostinger dashboard, so don't worry about it too much. Now, we do need to add an API key in order to configure OpenClaw. There's a variety of different APIs you can add. You can add Anthropic, OpenAI, which is ChatGPT, and also Gemini. I'm going to add the Gemini API. So, I'm going to go to Google AI Studio. Now, this is the Google AI Studio. So, you'll go ahead and make a free account

Get Gemini API

and then you can access the Google Gemini API for free. Here on the bottom left, you'll see get API key. And here is a list of APIs. Now, at the top right, I'll click on create API key. And then I'll give my API key a name, so I'll put OpenClaw. And then I'll click on create key. Okay. So, here is my API. So, on the right side, I'll just click on copy API key and go back to Hostinger and then I'll paste in the Gemini API key. Now, another key you can add is Anthropic and this is actually native to Claude. Now, if you want to use the Claude API, all you got to do is go to claude. ai. Make sure you make an account. Go to the bottom right and under learn more, you'll click on API console. This will bring you to the

Get Claude API

platform where you can now access the API. Now, in order to get your API key, here at the bottom, you'll see API keys. You'll click on API keys and then just click on create key. And for the key, I'll put OpenClaw. Click on add. And then you'll copy this and then you can paste this over at Hostinger. So, under the Anthropic API, I'll just go ahead and right click and paste it. You can also do this for OpenAI and Nexus well, but I'm not going to go through and add too many of these cuz obviously, you know, one is enough. So, once you add in your API key for any model you want to use, you'll scroll to the bottom and click on deploy. Okay. So, as of right now, your VPS is being deployed. Now, this process might take about 5 minutes. Now, once your VPS is done setting up, to access OpenClaw, you'll click on open. And this is where you'll paste your OpenClaw gateway token. Now, in case you forgot it or you misplaced it, you can always access it right here by clicking on gateway token, going back to OpenClaw, and then paste it. Then, you'll click on login. And just like that, we're now logged into OpenClaw. Now, there are some instances where the actual server gets stuck. Let me go back over here to the Docker manager really quick. Now, just in case you're at a loading screen where it was frozen, all you got to do is go to these three dots right here and click on restart and then try to re-login again. That is actually a common error that I've seen with Hostinger servers. So, just know sometimes that happens. So, now we're at OpenClaw. Now, the very first thing I want to show you all is

Change Models

first how to change your model. On the left side, let's click on agents. Here, you'll have an overview of your agents. Now, typically, this is the model that OpenClaw is going to use. So, right here under primary model, if we click on this, we can select a variety of models. Now, just remember that you must have the API added in order to use this specific model. So, for example, we used the Gemini model. So, I'm going to select the Gemini 3. 1 and then click on save. Cool. Once that's done, let's go back to the chat. And then we'll go ahead and type a message. And then we got a response. So, now we know that the API is connected with OpenClaw. And here, you'll get confirmation and it lets you know which exact model you're using when you're using OpenClaw. So, as of right now, OpenClaw is now connected and ready to go. Now, if you're brand new to OpenClaw, there are some things that I want to just go over really quick. The left tab over here under agents, again, this is where you can go ahead and switch between any model. I personally think Claude is really good when it comes to more like developer type work. Gemini is okay for like, I guess like the average person. ChatGPT, I don't think is that great at all, to be honest. And that is pretty much it on how to install OpenClaw. Next, let's set up Telegram so we can message our bot from any location. So, here I'll type in let's set up Telegram.

Setup Telegram

Now, it's giving us instructions on how to set up BotFather. Now, real quick, depending on the AI model that you're using, you could get different responses. So, that's just something to consider. Now, I know I'm showing you the step-by-step video, but the AI may respond different just because, you know, it's AI. So, I'll go ahead and open up my Telegram. So, this is the BotFather user for Telegram and this essentially is where you can create new bots. So, here I'll put new bot. Now, obviously, you can see I've made tons of bots before. Here, I'll go ahead and give my bot a name. Next, it'll ask us to create a username, so I'll just put Daryl Wilson _bot. Cool. So, now we have the API token. So, I'll go ahead and just copy this. And then let them know this is the API token. Okay. There's the API token. I'll go ahead and send this message. All right. Next, you'll see that OpenClaw might have kicked you out. Now, this is a very common thing. You're going to see this a lot. This happens when OpenClaw configures your config file. Anytime OpenClaw adjusts your config file, it will close automatically. OpenClaw may fix that in the future, but that's how it is for right now. So, you'll have to reopen OpenClaw. So, to do that, I'll just click on open and then we'll paste in our gateway token. Then, I'll click on login. Okay. So, once we come back, you'll see that it was successfully applied and again, this happens because whenever there is a configuration change, OpenClaw will reset. So, let's go back to our Telegram bot. Next, it'll let us know it's not configured. Now, what I do recommend here is just to copy and paste this entire message and give it to OpenClaw. So, I'm going to copy this. And then, we're going to go back to OpenClaw and then we're just going to tell it that this is the response. So, I put this is the response from Telegram and I just pasted that same message right here. So, I'll just go ahead and run this message. And just like that, the bot is now connected. Now, in order to actually test this out, we're just going to write a message. So, I'll put hello and let's see if it responds to me. And just like that, the bot is now connected and we can send messages directly to OpenClaw from Telegram. So, at this point, OpenClaw is now set up and ready to go. So, let's now talk

UI Interface Options

about the UI interface and get you comfortable with all the options. Now, the first options here are at the top right. Now, this is dark mode, also light mode. This is PC mode. So, once you actually download the ClawHub app, which is currently in beta right now, so it's not the best. You can actually click on system and then this can actually act as your computer, but you must actually go through the process of downloading the app and I'll definitely save that for another video. Next is the cron jobs and open claw will periodically message you letting you know about the cron jobs and it'll message you right here letting you know the cron job that's running. This other option, this just basically makes it full width, pretty simple. The next is this repair icon. This essentially will just show you the tools it's using. So for example, if I click on this and I run a command, you'll notice I asked it about the weather in Bangkok and then it lets you know the exact tools that it's using. So essentially what it's doing it's just showing you the output of exactly what it's doing in order to fetch the weather in Bangkok. And as you can see it is 38° C. It's really hot, it's really humid and it's really hot right now in Thailand. Now the last option right here is this brain. Now once you run more complex tasks, you should turn this on because this is essentially if you're trying to run really complex tasks, it'll help the AI fetch more information in order to make those tasks run properly. But if you're using open claw for just general things, I recommend to turn this off because this will save you more credits. Now we have a lot going on right here, so I'm going to go ahead and under the message type in clear and then I'll this will clear the messages so it's not so messy. Now here on the left side, let's take a look at control. So this is basically the gateway access and all the information such as gateway token and it's letting you know if the server's up. It also lets you know how much you've spent and how many tokens you have. The next we have is channels. Now whenever you configure an application like Telegram or WhatsApp, you can get confirmation right here. For example, we connected Telegram earlier and you'll see that it is configured. And let's say for example, it was not working properly for you, if there was an issue, you can always go ahead and copy and paste your bot token right here. So here you can actually paste in your bot token. Now I highly recommend to use an AI like Claude or Gemini. I've used Nexos which is the hosting or default AI and it is terrible. It never does anything properly, so for your own good, definitely go with Claude. It's a very clean AI. Now I'll scrolling down. Let's say for example, you tried to pair the bot earlier and it said there was something wrong with the messages, you can always change this to open and this will essentially make it so anyone can DM that specific bot. By selecting this to open, it will no longer require a pairing code, but it'll actually be open to the entire public. So that's just something to consider. So I'll change it back to pairing and there's just a few other options right here for other applications. Next let's take a look at instances. So these are connected instances. Essentially this is your VPS. So you'll see we're running Linux and it's connected to open claw. Next let's take a look at sessions. Session is basically what's been going on open claw. Now there's one very important option here that most people tend to overlook. If you go over here to thinking, you can actually control the thinking. The more thinking, the more credits it will take. So if you're using very basic tasks, you can just put this to lower medium, but if you're creating complex automations, running it to high might make more sense. Next we have verbose. This essentially will give you updates on the actual AI agents and then we have reasoning which essentially is inherent because the AI will technically always reason when it comes to a specific task. And if you select this to stream, this will actually send you all the information to your Telegram and paired devices. Next let's take a look at usage. This again is just basically how many messages were sent and the thought outputs and just general information and how many credits the API is actually using. Next we have cron jobs. Now cron jobs are really cool and we'll be setting up these a little bit later and we're going to have the AI do it for us so we don't have to manually do it. Next we have agents. Now I personally recommend to select Claude. Now I've been using many different AI agents with my other developers and we found that Claude is just the most efficient. Nexos is terrible. Do not use Nexos. It is a terrible AI. Also Gemini is not bad, but I do run into problems with it sometime. If you find yourself running into glitches or weird notices on your open claw UI, it's generally because of the model. So remember, the model is the most important part of open claw. I'll be showing you how to add more models a little bit later, but let's go ahead and go to skills. Skills are essentially things that open claw can do. Now here I'll go ahead and click on this drop down. Now these are built-in skills and you can go ahead and activate any one of these skills. Now I'll be showing you a website that actually will sync this up a lot easier, but here you can actually get an idea of skills you can implement with open claw. They have things like notion where you can use the notion API for creating pages. Essentially open claw will access those websites and do everything, but you first need to connect it. So while they are skills, you still have to connect it to the actual application. So it's not automatic, right? You basically give it a skill and then you connect it and then from there it can start performing tasks based off the skills and the API connection. Next we have nodes and nodes are essentially connected devices. So scrolling down, if we see devices, we will see that we have paired a bunch of different devices. Earlier we connected Telegram and I did connect a few other devices. So if you ever see devices right here that are paired, this is where you can know they're paired. Okay? Let's now go over here and click on config. Now I personally don't like looking at the config with the form, but for example, if you ever want to see what's going on open claw like your authentication problems or something else, you can go ahead and take a look right here. If you click on updates, it'll let you know about future updates as well, meta, logging and all these other options. Now personally, I like to use the code. So for example, I'll click on raw right here and then I'll expose the code. So let's say for example, Telegram just wasn't working for you, which is a very common problem with some users. Now over here under Google, here I actually ask it for the open claw JSON code. Now what you can do is manually enter this in. So for example, you'll go ahead and copy all this. Just enter in your user ID and then you can paste that here just in case the prompts were not working for you. Now if you adjust any sort of code from the actual config file, open claw will always reset. That may be fixed in the future, but as of right now, that's how it works. Okay, so that is pretty much it. These other options are just debugging, logs and also just records of AI agents. So let's now go back to the actual chat. You'll notice right when I came back, we have this cron and that's because I have this option selected. I do recommend to turn this off because if you don't, you're going to consistently get cron jobs right here in your channel section. So I do recommend to turn that off. Next let's talk about models

How To Add Ai Models

because this is something beginners don't really understand too well. Not all models are the same. Some are faster and cheaper, some are slower and smarter. So if you're using something like a small task, make sure to use a cheaper model. If you're doing something more complex, you can always switch to a more advanced model. If you're building complex skills like analyzing data, doing research or making decisions, you're going to want a stronger model because it can actually think better. The big takeaway here is if the results suck with open claw, it's not necessarily open claw, but it's the model that you're using. So that's something to really consider when you're using open claw. So always match the model with the task and you'll usually get better results. So let me go ahead and show you these models. Now let's say you want to add your own AI agent. Let me show you how to do that. Here under the assistant message, I'll just type a message. I put I want to add ChatGPT AI agent to open claw. Can I give you the API? Here I press enter. Cool. So now you'll see it's basically saying, "Okay, paste in your API key. " Now when sending messages, I always recommend to just ask it to give the API. If you don't, it'll be like, "Yeah, sure you can do that. " but it may not ask you for the API directly. So now we're giving it kind of a command. Now I'm going to go over here to open AI and just paste in my key. So for example, API keys, I'll create a new secret key. I'll create one called open claw and then click on create secret key and then I'll just paste this into open claw. Next I'll press enter. And then you'll see it added in the new AI agent. Now when doing this, sometimes you'll have to re-log out of open claw or refresh the page in order for those changes to apply. So I'll refresh the page. Okay, after that I ran a second command. I put, "Can you activate it in the AI agent section so I can select it? " Now after that was done, you'll see it restarted open claw and now it's available in the agent section. So let's take a look. Over here I'll click on agents and for the primary model, ChatGPT should now be available. Now you'll see that we have ChatGPT 4, ChatGPT 4 mini and then open 03, which is just another model. So this is how you can add more agents to open claw. Now when using open claw, I definitely

Brave Browser

recommend to use the Brave browser. In fact, the Brave browser is described as the official recommended browser for using open claw. In their documentation, they do recommend it. And let me explain why. Open claw isn't just browsing the internet like me or you. It needs clean structured data it can understand instantly and that's where the Brave search API comes in. The Brave browser gives open claw direct access to organized search results so your AI can pull information, summarize it and use it inside skills way more reliably. Now compare that to something like Google Chrome and this is just a browser for humans. If open claw relies on Google Chrome, it has to open websites, deal with ads, pop-ups, messy layouts and try to scrape information, which is slower and breaks a lot more often. Chrome also doesn't give you a simple API connection for search. So you're basically forcing the AI to guess instead of giving it clean data. So here's the thing. Google Chrome and Edge and other browsers, they can work for some automations, but if you want to have automations with no problems at all, the Brave browser is the way to go. So the Brave browser is a much better choice cuz it was built to work with AI, not just for browsing the internet. So while we're working on open claw, let's now use the Brave browser and I'll show you how to connect the API. So let's switch over to Brave and I'll show you how to integrate the API. Now this part is totally optional, but open claw does recommend to use open claw from the Brave browser cuz they have an API integrated for AI. So I'm going to go to Brave. Now I'll go ahead and leave two links in the video description. The first one is for the Brave browser where you can download this. This is just a browser like Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge. The second link is actually the API. Now again, this is made for AI and what this does is it helps open claw search the internet instead of trying to guess what's going on. Now this does cost about $5 in order to run the Brave browser, but again, this is totally optional. You do not have to do this, but for your own good, I do recommend it. I'll be using Brave for the remainder of this video, but it does make your automation simpler and you'll run into less errors if you use the Brave browser. So it's really up to you. Now the first thing I'll do is ask it to enable web search. So here I put, I want to enable web search with the Brave browser. I'll run this prompt. Now it's asking me to paste in the API key from Brave. So let's go back to Brave. So going back to the search API Brave dashboard, all I got to do is go over here and click on API keys, and then just click on add API key. And for subscription, we'll leave that as search, and then I'll click on add. Then I'll go ahead and copy this, and then paste this in OpenClaw. So I just typed in, here is the Brave API key, I pasted it in, and then I'll run this prompt. All right, perfect. Now OpenClaw has been configured with Brave, and you'll see right now it can search the web using Brave, get information, and then also combine search results with our AI responses. Now I want to

Connect Maton

show you a real cool tool that I haven't seen on the internet at all, but me and my developers, we actually use this tool. This is called Matson AI. Instead of your agent reacting to one prompt, it can actually handle ongoing workflows with more complex logic. In short, you can store all your APIs in one location, and OpenClaw can easily access them from one source. For example, you can integrate Shopify API, and OpenClaw can always access Shopify right from this location. This way you'll never have API issues or disconnection problems. So let me show you how to integrate your tools with Matson. Now before we jump into skills, I definitely recommend to sync up applications so the skills can be implemented. So let's go to matson. ai. Now this is a website that you can use that can essentially sync up any of these apps, and you can see there is more than like 150 different apps that you can actually connect right here, and then later on we can sync this up with OpenClaw so we can easily connect information in order to make the workflows and everything else work with less errors. So at the top right, you'll click on sign up, and then you can sign up and make a free account. Now I'm already registered, so I'll go ahead and log in. Now let's say for example, you wanted to connect to Gmail or Google Drive or Slack or any of these applications, all you'll do is just log in with these applications. So for Gmail, I'll click on connect. Here I'll link my Gmail account. I'll make sure I give it full access, and then click on continue. Now you'll see Gmail has been connected to matson. ai. You can also do this with Google Drive, Slack, and tons of other different applications. I also want to integrate Brave. So over here I'll type in Brave, then I'll click on connect. All I got to do here is paste in the API, and then I'll paste in the API key. All right, cool. It's connected. I also want to connect Telegram. So over here under the apps, I'll type in Telegram. Now you don't have to do this, but I like doing it just to make sure every single AI can communicate with each other properly. So I'll go ahead and click on connect. So now it's asking for my bot token from BotFather. So I'll go ahead and open up Telegram, and right here you'll see we have our access token. So I'll copy this for my bot. And then I'll just paste it here. And then I'll click on connect. And that's it. It's now connected with Telegram. Really simple. Now I know some of you might not want everything sent to Telegram. Maybe you want it sent to Google Docs or maybe even Google Sheets. You can always connect Google Sheets or Docs, and then it can send you daily reports using those applications. So I'll go ahead and connect Google Sheets as well. Okay, cool. I did get an error saying it wasn't connected, but I just tried one more time and it worked just well. So uh by doing it this way, OpenClaw can actually make Google Sheets for you and put them on a spreadsheet without you having to intervene or check your phone. Next, let's also sync up Google Calendar, cuz I will use this in one of my examples. Here I'll click on connect. All right, cool. So Google Calendar was also integrated. So next, let's now install the Matson API. So let's go back over here to Matson, and what we're going to do here is I'm just going to copy this API, and I'm going to give it to OpenClaw. Here we go. Connect the Matson API, and then I'll go ahead and run this prompt. Okay. Now OpenClaw kicked me out, and that's perfectly normal, cuz it did change the config file, but now you'll see Matson API has been successfully connected. The API has been saved, and the plugin is enabled. It then restarted OpenClaw, and then it brought me back to the landing page. And just to be safe, I just wanted to check if Matson API is connected. So now you'll see that we got a message, and this happens all the time with OpenClaw. You always want to double-check because you'll see right here that it was connected successfully, but after I asked him one more time, you'll see it was not. So I'll go ahead and ask him to find the plugin, install it, and connect the API. All right, cool. So after I asked it to see if Matson was connected, you'll now see it's fully connected and everything is active. So it's active with Google Mail, Brave Search, Telegram, and also Google Sheets. Next, let's talk about

Openclaw Skills

skills, because this is where OpenClaw typically gets more powerful. A skill is basically a set of instructions that tells your AI exactly what to do. Instead of saying, go find news, you can create a skill that searches specific websites, filters out junk, and summarizes the best information, and sends it to you on Telegram. The key thing beginners need to understand is the more specific your skill is, the better your outcome will be. If your instructions are too vague, then you're going to get vague results. So just remember, skills are things that OpenClaw can do on its own without you having to intervene. You can ask OpenClaw to create their own skills, or you can download them from ClawHub. Now I've seen many tutorials on the internet where they talk about ClawHub, but they get everything wrong. ClawHub that has a list of available skills, but what they don't tell you is a majority of these skills have malware. Remember, OpenClaw is open source, so anyone can submit these tools. I've seen cases where users download skills and exposes all of their banking credentials and crypto website credentials. So I don't want to scare you too much, but just make sure that you get your skills from a reliable developer. Now I'll be showing you how to implement three skills in this video. The first skill is a morning brief. This is where your AI checks your emails and calendar, and sends you a clean summary every day. So you don't have to go digging through everything yourself. Second, I'll be showing you how to build a niche research bot. And this is where things start getting really powerful. Your AI will go out, search the internet, find important updates in your niche, filter out all the junk, and send you only what matters. And for number three, I'll show you how to create a more advanced example. This is called a price tracker. This one actually stores data over time, compares it, and only notifies you when there's real opportunity. So it's not just giving you information, it's making decisions based off patterns. So with that in mind, let me show you how to utilize skills for OpenClaw. Now let's talk about the fun stuff. Now let's implement skills with OpenClaw. So for the first skill, I want to run a daily summary. I want OpenClaw

Skill 1. Daily Summary

to go through my email right here, and I want them to find invoices or things I paid for, because sometimes, let's be honest, we may have subscriptions to some websites, and we might leave those running too long, and then we're paying for them. So I want it to actually notify me of upcoming invoices, of receipts, or anytime I paid for an application so I can cancel the services. And I think this is a very common thing with most people where we have applications that we subscribe to and we forget about, right? So let's go ahead and run this prompt. Create a skill called morning brief that runs daily at 7:00 a. m. via cron. Now what I'm doing here is I'm creating a skill, and I'm also implementing a cron job. Check my Gmail for unread overnight emails using Matson API. Flag anything urgent subject with Here I'll go ahead and change this with invoice. Okay? And I'll change this to receipt. So pull my Google Calendar events for today and tomorrow via Matson API. Send me a Telegram summary, urgent emails first with sender and subject, then today's schedule, then tomorrow's preview in a very organized structure. Now this is running several things. So we're creating a skill, running cron jobs, and essentially we're going to get notified via Google Calendar. So it's simultaneously doing different things. So now it's asking us to confirm a few things, and this may happen when running skills. It's asking us to confirm the time zone. I'm going to change it to GMT+7, cuz I'm in Thailand, so GMT+7. So I went ahead and I put, GMT+7 time zone is the correct time zone, and also yes, Matson connections are fully connected. You verified them earlier. I do like to remind OpenClaw about things, cuz then it starts to self-check its history. And just like that, we've now implemented a skill that runs every day at 7:00 a. m. Now we do need to confirm a few things, and also some of you might have gotten to errors. I understand that. So let me show you the debugging methods. So now I want to see if the skill was actually created. So I put, check the skill exist. Ask the agent list all skills. We should see the morning brief in the list with a check mark. Let's go ahead and run this prompt. So here is a list of all the skills that come with OpenClaw. Now these are obviously built in, so these don't really apply to us. Now we're going to scroll down, and right here under custom skills, you'll now see that we have the morning brief active with a cron job running at 7:00. So that's how we implemented this skill, and that's how you can always confirm if skills were implemented. Next, I want to double-check, because sometimes they say things are there and they're really not. So I'm going to run a second command. Show me the contents of the morning brief skill MB. And here we go. So now we have the description, we have the morning brief, required environmental variables. You'll see that the Matson API has been connected, we have the script running, and overall this looks very correct. And here we have the cron setup. I'll click on the JSON lines, and we just want to make sure that 07 is there. Now OpenClaw has a very strange way of running crons. I'll talk more about this a little bit later in the video. So I'll go ahead and close this. And here are my urgency keywords, invoice. invoice, receipt, subscription, refund. And scrolling down, you'll see if we can make any changes to it. Now I don't want to do that. I just want to confirm the skill was created. So since the skill was created, we now need to triple-check the cron. So just to make sure everything worked properly. Over here, I'll click on cron jobs, and right away you'll see that this cron job was now created. So it was enabled, and here is the morning brief cron job. So every day running at 7:00 a. m. This is how you can always confirm if a cron job was created or not. And in my case, it did create, thank god, cuz there has been a lot of instances where OpenClaw does get very glitchy, and you have to constantly remind it to create the cron job. Let's go back to chat. Now here is some documentation for all of you. So let's say for example, you run that prompt and things didn't work out. Maybe it did not connect to Matson or Telegram or emails come back empty. All you need to do is go ahead and run these prompts for any one of these problems, and this should generally fix it. A lot of the times OpenClaw forgets, it's a very forgetful machine. Trust me, I know that sounds weird, but it does forget things sometimes. I've learned that slowly. So, these are some prompts that you can run just in case something went wrong. Now, let's go ahead and test it. So, right here, I want to run the morning brief skill right now. So, I'm going to copy this and go back to OpenClaw. So, let's now run this. Here, I'm going to go ahead and paste this and I want to run the morning brief skill right now. Okay, so let's go ahead and check my Telegram. Okay, so the first time I ran this, I got incorrect information. So, you'll see right here that all it did was just send me all these unknown subjects. Now, I'll show you how to fix this. Now, I want to be transparent with everybody watching this video. When you first run a skill, you're rarely going to get everything to work on the first try. It's going to take you several times in order to correct and fix the actual AI. So, I'm going to show you exactly what I did to give you an idea of how to fix things. So, here I put, "I'm only getting from unknown subject. I want you to scan the emails, find receipts in the skills. Please double-check the skill and run it again. " And what they did here was they actually updated it a little bit more. They fixed it, but this time, they sent me unread emails from Google. So, I had to correct it one more time cuz at this point, at least it's acknowledging the sender, right? Which is good. So, the next command I ran was, "You only send Google account warnings. I want to see invoices and payments from companies that I may have overlooked. Please check again. I want to see invoices and receipts in my Telegram. " And then you'll see it ran this specific prompt right here. And what it did was it brought in its search. So, it expanded the keywords to invoice, receipt, subscriptions, refund, payment, billing, and all these other things. So, at this point, it's sort of learning as they go, right? And then you're going to see at the bottom, they are starting to actually flag warnings about credits, bills, and so on and so forth. So, let's go back to Telegram. So, going back to Telegram, here we have the first attempt, and then here we have the second attempt. However, on the third attempt, it finally worked. So, now it's basically talking about invoices and payments. And this is actually an AI tool that I use and you'll see that uh we're running low on credits for this specific tool. And we can double-check this by looking at the email. So, going back to our Gmail, right here under Haygen, you're going to see that uh we're running low on credits. This essentially has to do with money and subscription, so it's notifying me about things I'm going to have to pay for. Now, over here, you'll see that we also got another warning from Haygen. Now, I could have actually made this uh go back like the last 7 days, but it only ran it for today, which was this date right here, which was 20 hours ago. So, it's only running today. So, if you want this to actually scan past emails, you can just tell the actual AI to do that. But I just want daily reminders about things I might have to pay for before I pay for it. So, congratulations, we have successfully implemented a skill that works 100% correctly. Let's move on to the next one. For skill number two, this is very practical. I want to know about upcoming

Skill 2. Niche Research

news happening in my specific niche. Maybe you're a real estate agent in Tennessee, you want to know what's going on over there. Or if you're an AI guy, you want to know about the latest updates to Gemini. We can actually pull all that from OpenClaw. So, here we go. Create a skill called niche research. Every day at 8:00, search the web for the latest news and development in here is your niche. And I'm going to put WordPress. Okay, WordPress. Find three to five articles about, you know, this in the last 7 days. Summarize all of it in two to three sentences. Do not include job postings, press releases, or sponsored content. Send this to Telegram. Create this as a skill and set up a cron to run every day at 8:00. So, I'll go ahead and run this prompt. Now, I think something like this is very practical, especially for people that are in specific industries where they need to know what's going on. So, you can be reminded every day about things happening in your niche via Telegram right when you wake up. So, I'll go ahead and give this a few minutes to run. And perfect, it just created a skill called niche research. And here, it'll let us know we have a WordPress niche digest. We have the dates, the title, source, and dates, and then a summary of what actually happened. And here, it's actually funny. They actually know that WooCommerce and React is sort of related to WordPress. So, if they wanted us to broaden the research, uh we can actually do that, but I'm not going to. But if you want, you can always go ahead and broaden the search. Now, I'll just go ahead and just run a test. So, run a test digest now. And perfect, it's going to search the web and then notify us via Telegram. Now, we can also do this with Google Sheets as well. We can Docs. I also want to try out Google Docs. Let's just go ahead and connect this really quick. Okay, cool. So, Google Docs was connected. So, tell you what, I'll also run this with Telegram and Google Docs cuz I just don't only want to show you all Telegram. And here we go. We have WordPress 7. 0 release, which was March 27th, and you'll see the date is also March 27th. WordPress also published content about letting AI write. Pretty interesting. And uh we have some other information here. We have something from LearnDash as well. They have a brand new, I guess like some sort of vulnerability in this plugin. So, this is actually really helpful, especially for me in the WordPress community. Also, uh oh, 7. 0 officially drops at WordCamp Asia, Mumbai. Interesting. I didn't know that. And this happened as of yesterday. So, they are talking about current events and these things are very relevant to WordPress. So, it's not just sending me a bunch of spam. This thing actually makes sense and everything looks great. It looks like there was some error with Telegram. Sometimes, guys, weird stuff happens. You know, there's really no right or wrong way to make a video on this cuz I need to demonstrate that you will run into errors and you have to correct it using prompts. So, let's go back over here. And look at that. It just wrote it as I was talking. So, that's actually really cool. So, OpenClaw wrote all this. So, by using OpenClaw, you can really automate your lifestyle. Now, for the third skill, I've saved the

Skill 3. Price Tracker

best for last. And this is going to be the price checker. Let's say, for example, you want to book a flight to Thailand, but you don't know when the cheapest flight arrives because sometimes these prices fluctuate. We're going to use OpenClaw to scan these websites and find the cheapest date possible for us to book a trip to Thailand. Also, let's say, for example, you want to buy a graphics card for your computer and you want to be notified when this price drops. We can actually ask OpenClaw to constantly check these websites and the day it gets cheaper, we'll be notified via Telegram. This is a great way on how to save money by using OpenClaw cuz sometimes things goes on sale like at Target or something else and you want to be notified, right? So, let me give you a prompt that will show you how to save money with OpenClaw. The first thing I'm going to show you all is a price tracker. Create a skill called price tracker that runs every day 9:00 a. m. via cron. Search for flights from LAX to Bangkok in the month of April. Only message me on Telegram if the price drops to 550 or drops more than 10% from the 2-week average. Stay silent otherwise. So, I'll go ahead and run this quick prompt. Now, essentially what I'm doing here is I want it to scan websites to find the cheapest actual price to go to Thailand. So, we're up booking. com. And for example, it's really hard for me to find which day it's cheaper, right? So, what we can do here is we can ask AI to virtually scan all the dates and find out which is going to be the cheapest for us. So, we can actually move this to April, to May, or any month that you want to travel in order to find the best day deal. All right, cool. So, after waiting about a few minutes, you'll now see that it created this skill. So, essentially what it's doing here is that it's tracking the prices of these airlines to find out when is the cheapest time to go to Thailand in April. And scrolling down, you'll see that we'll be notified via Telegram. So, everything was good. Now, the thing is with this specific skill is this skill is going to be a daily reminder. Now, this needs a memory. So, we can't really run it right away. It's going to accumulate a bunch of prices and then over time, it's going to give us the best price. Now, you can do this with anything on the internet. So, for example, let's say you want to buy this graphics card. We can do the same thing. So, as of right now, this price is 339. Now, we don't really know if this price is going to fall, but I do want to be notified if it does. So, what I can do for this one is I'll go ahead and copy this link and I'll go back to OpenClaw. And I'll make this one really simple. I want to be notified when this product drops below 339. 99. Here is the product and I went ahead and I linked the product on Amazon. Check every day at 8:00 a. m. and let me know if the price falls below this price. So, now that we have a skill tracker, we can now start tracking different prices of products just in case you want to get notified when these fall in price. So, let's go ahead and run this prompt. Here, I'll go ahead and execute the prompt. And here's an example of why you want to use the Brave browser. So, Amazon is actually blocking the fetch. So, if you were using Google Chrome or some sort of other browser, it would just block it and then make it so you can't find it. However, since we're using the API with Brave, it can actually bypass that and go directly to the link. So, now it's actually building a robust tracker script using the API. So, this is a perfect example of why you want to use Brave. And perfect, after that, we have the full rundown. So, here you'll see the actual price. We'll be notified via cron every single day. And if we scroll down, this is what it's going to look like. So, this is the Telegram alert where it lets us know this is the current price and then basically, you know, what the price is now. And then also here, we just want to make sure that we send this to Telegram. Make sure to send this to my Telegram bot. And perfect, Telegram is confirmed and connected and we are tracking the prices of two different products. price of that video card from Amazon and also the prices to

Support

Bangkok. Also, as a bonus for watching this video, we've actually included this PDF in the video description. This will actually walk you through how to connect Brave, also how to connect Matson and all the steps that we covered in this video. So, here is the morning brief. And just in case you ran into problems, uh we actually have debugging options right here. So, uh you know, if you have any issues or if you want to understand what's going on or if you got errors or things were not working properly, we'll include this PDF in the video description so you can always refer back to this just in case you had any errors whatsoever. All right, folks, that is
