UPDATE! New Google Sites - Customize Your Domain Name

hi there Jamie Keith here today a teachers tech with a great update for the new Google Sites and that is you are gonna be able to customize your domain finally just like with the old Google Sites so you're gonna be able to map it get your create your site map it to the domain name that you want I'll make sure I'll put this article link to the article down below this is just from your G suite updates blog I'm gonna show you kind of what it looks like here you'll see you the option if I go over to my example here the reason I'm not showing you on this one if I hit publish you notice it's not there yet the reason be if I kind of scroll over down to the bottom you can see that it's being rolled out gradual over the next 15 days and it's also going to be available to all G suite addition I know I've had a lot of people ask me with my other Google site with a Google Sites video when this update was coming so it should be over the next couple of weeks here the one thing I'll show you here is when you're in your admin console so what you're gonna do is go to your apps and this is to how to map your pages here so then you're gonna go over to G suite and then two sites and you can see at the very bottom there's web address mapping when you click on that I have some old ones from the old Google site so if I click on here's that what I was teaching grade five a couple years ago this was using the old Google Sites and you can see I had my mr. Keats ei because I used a sub-domain in front of my domain so you'll be able to do that with a new Google site so what you're gonna be able to do is just add a new web address and here is where you put the name of the site of that you just created in new Google Sites and then you'll put your sub domain in the front but remember you have to make sure you change your cname things name incorrectly in order for it to show up and it might take 24 hours for it to show up after you do that so that's a great update for the new Google Sites I'll come out with a new video featuring kind of the whole walk through the whole tutorial process of setting it up when I'm able to but she has to take a look at the article link down below thanks for watching make sure you share this because I know there's some going to be some other people excited about this update talk to you later
