How Ali Does $100,000 a Month Dropshipping on eBay! A Student Success Story!

what does it take to start a six-figure ebay drop shipping business in less than five months well today we're sitting down with one of my students Ali who saw incredible success in a really short period of time now his success is obviously not typical but neither is his approach to this business I think you're really going to learn a lot from the way that Ali approaches eBay dropshipping and I think you're going to be really inspired by his story so let's get right into the interview so

welcome to the show Ali welcome Lee how you doing great thank you for having me thanks for hanging on really excited to hear about your story because I think it's going to really inspire a lot of people can you tell us a little bit about who you are in your background sure yeah so my name is Ali force I live in Dallas I have a family of five six kids I have a pretty big family and I'm kind of like a serial entrepreneur I'm always trying to you know figure out the next big thing I've been running my own software consulting business for about five years and also doing some online reselling and things like that on eBay I never really got into dropshipping until about six months ago when I really got started and how did you find out about it six months

ago so I have a friend he was he took your course and he just sent me his sales one day and he's like look what I'm able to do on eBay and I didn't believe him first I'm like are you serious are these real like yeah they're real and he said I took this course and so I took that I saw the link I saw your course in fact I went through the entire course in literally one minute I stayed up all night watch the entire course set up my eBay account and the next day I started listing and that's really how I got started cool so what is your journey been since

then like what kind of numbers are you doing are you seeing success with it yes so for the past two months I've been doing it for six months now for the past two months I've been over $100,000 in sales Wow so the journey starting the first month are they will do about 10k and then it just it started growing exponentially from there until where I am now where you know I'm doing over a hundred thousand dollars a month why do

you think you were able to do well so quickly with it yeah that's a good question I think I take my business really seriously like I take I treat eBay as a business and I treat it more seriously than if I had a full-time job like I treat my own business as series if not more serious than that so if I set goals for myself like today I have to list X amount of items or you know I have to do this for my business and I will not rest until that's taken care of right so I don't give myself excuses and I just push forward every single day making some level of progress each day so I have to ask so you have

six kids and you have a business plus the eBay business is that correct yeah I have a couple businesses - how are you handling all about it is pretty hard you know takes a lot of time and the family also you know requires a lot of my time and I prefer to give my time than my family to be honest but I think it's just in my blood you know to not go get a nine-to-five like I just can't do this so I just have to figure out you know what works and hustle till I finally figured out awesome

so let's kind of get into the some of the specifics and nitty-gritty what um software are you using and are you using anything that you think is unique or just using some of the normal things that people out there use for dropshipping yeah I use the standard tools you know I think a lot of the advice that you give pretty sound at least my experience so I use DSM for listing I use Zeke analytics for product research what else I use tracker bot and I use reply manager I also have four V A's that are helping me out so and they're crucial and integral part of my business so I use reply manager to help manage customer service for that

what are your VA is doing for you they are running my business so yeah they are doing listing they are doing customer service they are doing order fulfillment yeah so all I'm really doing is I'm paying my credit cards on time you know and you know if I need to contact eBay I haven't outsource that yet so I do contact eBay no one that's right you know in my experience the contact in eBay is the hardest one to outsource and it I haven't even fully nailed it down myself because you know they got a call in they have to have a phone number or phone and have to call during certain hours so it's difficult it's definitely the hardest one yeah but

congratulations on that when did you hire your first VA do you remember and why did you decide to do that then well one of the parts because I run multiple businesses said I need to do initially what I enjoy the most about a business is figuring out how to automate that business right making myself not the bottleneck in that business so that's why I started hiring v---aids because you know I I don't want a full-time job of me listing you know or me I did that for awhile right and I did fulfill 50 orders a day and I don't enjoy it so that's what I out sourced oh do you think it's

possible to outsource or automate the whole process or most of it yeah I mean that's basically where I am so the amount of time I spend a week is proud probably within probably no more than five hours a week I can I spend on the business so what do you

spend your time on now I follow up with my bas I ensure they're well trained I answer their questions I try to meet with them on a weekly basis i chat with them all the time it doesn't that doesn't really take too much time but I try to meet with them ensure that you know where we're all on the same page called eBay's ebay if there's any customer service issues that they can't handle if there's a particularly difficult customer service issue me and my VA will work together on it come on so what's next for your

eBay store or are you gonna branch out and do something different entirely what's your plan oh yeah my plan is to kind of stabilize it you know I want to see consistent sales numbers over the next year or so I think that will really give me confidence that you know this is something that is has some long-term viability I've had great success so far and I'm happy but I really would like to see this last at least a year or longer and I just want to continue growing I like where I am now that one continue going I've considered doing some amazon drop shipping I looked into that and I'm also doing some merchant fulfilled Amazon stuff as well so physical actual physical products cool so it sounds like

you're really diversifying your income streams here yeah that that's exactly right you know I talked about this a couple times with some other people that I tracked chat with about drop shipping is it's a concern of mine that you know every all my eggs are in one basket you know when it comes to eBay and if something happened with eBay they decide to you know mess up my account or it closed my account or they don't like me or I don't know what could happen you know I'm I don't feel really comfortable with that so I doesn't want to diversify I stress that it is important yeah I

agree with that too I think eBay dropshipping definitely works but it's those things too smart idea to diversify as much as possible so I know a lot of people are gonna ask so where are you getting your items from what sources are you using yeah the standard source is Home Depot and Walmart great so it sounds like you're not making this complicated at all that's right I try to do it the simplest way that again would allow me to automate the business you know if there's a lot of manual steps in there maybe it'll make me more profit but it may not be worth it if it turns out to be a right so what advice do you have

for new sellers people who are just learning about drop shipping for the first time or just getting started do you have any advice for them yeah for sure um like number one treat it like a business right don't treat it as a hobby you know really you know go in go all in on it number one number two I would say you know identify the different lovers in your business that you're able to pull and for example customer service the quality of shipping times you know these are all levers that you can adjust you know if you place your orders faster your shipping times are faster for example and see how that impacts your sales right and you once you reach that right combination of levers that you've pulled you'll start to see success if you have to try it you can't just ask someone or you know watch a course I mean those are great but you gotta try some things on your own and really learn from it awesome well congratulations on your success I'm really excited you had reached out to me I think inside the private Facebook group and when I saw that I was so excited for you and I knew I had to get you on the show so thank you for coming on and maybe in a few months we can catch up with you again and see how well you're doing after the holidays for sure appreciate it thank you so much
