Indiana Crossroads

it's always exciting and beneficial to our growth when we are able to add a new customer to the mix but our trusted relationship customers are what makes iea who we are so we're in chalmers indiana right now this building sits inside of the footprint of the recently constructed indiana crossroads wind farm and it's actually the largest single phase wind farm at 302. 4 megawatts that edp renewables has ever built the wind farm at 300 megawatts is able to power the equivalent of about 80 000 hoosier homes i think it was really nice for us to hear that white was going to be doing the construction in particular because this is an indiana project and i think what that lends itself to is an understanding by the construction team that while construction doesn't last very long the thing that's important is that this project is going to be here for 30 years right and the way that something is constructed can leave a lasting impact on the community it's good for the economy it's good for our employees it's good for small businesses you know we'll descend on a farm uh you know three four hundred employees and they're all eating lunch and they're all going and buying their groceries at the local grocery store and they're staying in hotels and their families come and visiting them and so that's just the immediate kind of shot in the arm certainly from the standpoint of the landowner there's a great benefit certainly the school districts benefit tremendously from a tax base standpoint working with white was fantastic like i really especially when it came to like the work on the public roads the access roads i did a site drive through after we had started construction i was just so blown away at how well everything was being handled especially this is a huge site this is a 300 megawatt project and we were you know we hit construction really fast once we started we were going and the level of quality and the communication that was going back and forth really between our development team our construction team and white was really fantastic it made the star of construction so much easier than i have seen in the past it's those relationships that get you through the tough spots and then when the good spots are here you get to enjoy the victories and certainly indiana crossroads was a victory for white construction and it was a victory because of our safety record and because our customer edpr was pleased with the results of the project we couldn't be any more proud of the team that built icr from soup to nuts the development team the construction team the ready mix the reinforcing steel the cement stabilization with specialties company it was just a success like we batted a thousand and it's just a nice feeling to have a project that bats a thousand you
