louis o'neal we've been working there for well over 10 years bulk in lagrange cory and just got that one i guess last week this is probably my third or fourth hard hat i probably had like 20 or 25 stickers on the previous hard hat it is a good way to remember different projects that you've worked on in the past brings back good memories i'm keith stevens say construction division manager of mining and i've been with the company for 21 years i started in the co-op program from university of alabama birmingham in april of 2000 and worked for a couple of quarters and then graduated and stayed on full time at that time 21 years ago it was part-time about 20 hours work a week and the rest of the time you're going to school you both get to try out each other and see if it's a good fit for both the company and the student i really uh i really fell in love with all the folks here right from day one and been here ever since and it's been great the whole time i first off came into the office for a couple of weeks learning the ropes around here learning the estimating department take off technicians what they did i was learning the ropes all the way from you know from the ground up really doing layout surveying uh doing the paperwork then eventually you know a couple years later i was managing small projects on my own back then we did a lot of subdivision work power plant work paper mill work so had a lot of stickers over the years from every different site that i've gone to i don't know i mean i guess maybe my 21-year sticker i mean i'm proud of that because i'm proud of the family feel of this company we all work together very hard to accomplish the same goal like i said i've ever since day one when i started in the co-op program it's felt like family ever since
