Change Your Names in Youtube, Gmail and More

hi there Jamie ke here tonight at teachers Tech hope everyone's having a great night tonight we're going to take a look at how to change your name in Gmail and your other Google accounts like YouTube or Google Classroom so stick around if you want to find out a quick way to do

this so I'm going to show you a couple different ways to change your name and the first way is just going to be in Gmail but the second way will be in across all your Google accounts uh so when you change your name in Gmail just in the settings it won't change your email addresses the other way it won't it just changes the name displayed so to do this inside your Gmail is just go up into the gear and click on settings here once you're in settings here you just go to uh accounts here and you can see it says send mail as and here's the email address I have here is the Darth do Vader one and I'm going to edit this info so when it opens up here what I'm going to do is click here and let's say I want to be called uh whoops that's not that right one I want to be called Mr Vader here and then I'm going to just save changes here so I'm going to go back and send a mail uh message to one of my different accounts so you can see I already sent it once previously and it was as Darth Vader here was the name but now if I send that message again and if I hit compose and I'll just send it to the same account I'll just write High here and hit send now when I go back to this account you can see the name changed in here so it's a quick way if you want your name to be displayed differently and it won't change your email just do that and it's just in your Gmail account this effects so I'm just going to quickly go back to this one here and I'm going to just change it back to what I had it uh before because I'm going to show you a different way here just in number my accounts and edit and I'm just going to click on my Darth Vader and save changes like so and now it' be back to normal so the other way

to do this is through your Google Plus and that and your Google+ connects to everything so I'm just going to go up and go to my go+ um so I've set this up on this account uh previously and so where you go from here is your profile once you're into your profile you can just click on the name here Darth Vader and uh what you do you can from this point if you ever want to change your picture on your all your accounts just change it here just click on this and you can upload the photo and the new picture will take place here and once you save it will go across all your accounts also but I want to change the name right here so when I click on this I'm just going to change it again um to I'll change it to Lord Vader this time and I'm going to S hit just okay there I'm not going to change anything else and it saves up so what I want to show you here um is um so I had a couple other things open here so if I have here is the YouTube channel that he had previously and uh if I refresh it you can see it's Lord Vader now here's my Google Classroom that I had open where he had a class teaching and if I refresh it if uh it will be now Lord Vader so it Go AC goes across all your things and it will even go into your Gmail uh and so the same way is if you want to change your picture at that point it goes across everything uh too so those are just a couple of ways to change your name the first way was just with uh your Gmail account but if you want to change it across everything or if you have a YouTube channel and you want to change it maybe you got married you want to change your name or maybe you want your name to be uh displayed as Mr or miss or um misss on a uh on your Google Classroom uh like a teacher uh so those are different ways that you can do that so I hope you like these little tips um share it with other people if you find if it did help uh give it a thumbs up if you think it helps you too uh thanks for watching so much and I'll see you next week
