Naked carbohydrates are when you eat carbohydrates without much else, no proteins or fats. And this is especially problematic for weight gain. When you eat, your stomach acts as a reservoir. So, it mixes and churns together everything that you ate and slowly releases it bit by bit into the small intestine for absorption into the bloodstream. When you eat naked carbohydrates, what gets released into the small intestine is 100% glucose, which causes a very quick spike in glucose. If you eat those carbohydrates together with proteins, and fats, and fibers when it's all mixed, what goes into the small intestine has a bit of proteins, fats, fiber, and carbohydrates, and therefore rise in glucose is much lower, which causes less insulin effect, which causes less weight gain. Don't eat naked carbohydrates.
