Welcome to the channel Behind the Microphone Volodymyr. This big box arrived for me. And this is a large-capacity lithium iron phosphate battery. It's an IT Ferum Pomer 4 battery. The box is large and heavy, but everything arrived normally. The box has all the basic information about what is inside the box itself.

Next, I carefully open the box and take out everything inside. And first of all, there is an instruction on top, which it is highly recommended to review before using the battery. Also on top were bolts for clamping power wires and plastic caps. I remove the soft seal and there is already a battery under it. The packaging is fine. If the box is not thrown too hard during transportation, everything will arrive fine. I took out the battery. And this is what it looks like. This is a ready-assembled battery

in a housing. In appearance, in principle, it is a standard battery in a standard design. Standard square shape with power terminals. On top of the battery case it is indicated who the manufacturer is and also on the case there are all the main parameters of this battery. Also, all the basic information about the battery is available on the manufacturer's website, where everything is written in great detail. This is a lithium iron phosphate battery. Voltage 12 V, capacity 314 Ah. That is, such a battery can contain up to 4,000 watts of electricity or up to 4 kW. In the calculation based on the nominal battery voltage, everything is indicated correctly. This battery has a built-in multifunctional BMS protection board that can withstand currents up to 200 A. And this battery has the Mini Smart designation, meaning that a Smart BMS is installed here. and you can install an application on your smartphone and via Bluetooth you will be able to view and adjust various battery parameters. The main purpose of such batteries is to accumulate, store, and then release the accumulated energy to power various electrical devices. This battery is not suitable as a starter battery for a car. The battery itself is quite large. Dimensions approximately 38x19 and 25 cm. Weight approximately 28 kg. For easy carrying, there are handles on the side walls of the battery. There is voltage at the battery power terminals. Everything is fine. The battery is working. This is a normal voltage level, both for transportation or storage mode of the battery.

The instructions are as follows. And, in principle, it is standard. Here is all the basic information about the battery. There are basic battery characteristics: capacity, voltage, recommended charging and discharging currents, dimensions, and so on. The main thing is that the charging current is up to 200 A, but it is better to charge with a current of up to 63 A. And a lower current means less wear on the battery. Discharge current up to 200 A, peak current up to 300 A. Voltages are also indicated and it is stated that the battery has a resource of up to 6,000 cycles, but it is highly advisable to discharge the battery to 20% of the remaining capacity, not to exceed currents and adhere to recommended temperatures. Here is a charging and discharging schedule. And it can be seen that for lithium ferrum polymer 4 the main operating voltage range is a very sloping line with bends at the ends. And this has both its advantages and some disadvantages. There are also recommendations for battery charging, information on the BMS protection board, and other miscellaneous information. I have a version of the battery with Smart BMS and the

ability to monitor and configure via smartphone. The application itself is available in the same Play Market and you need to download it to work with the battery. Launched the mobile app. For Bluetooth to work, you need to grant geolocation permission. This is what the main panel looks like. Next you need to connect to the battery. I click on search and the battery is immediately found and I click connect. Everything is connected and the main screen already shows the charge level, voltage level and temperature. When you click on the voltage indicator, you can see the voltages of all four sections, which is good. There are also displays of the current and power that pass through the battery's power terminals when charging or connecting a load. There are also several tabs here, one of which shows various battery emergency messages. There is also a tab where you can configure the protection activation parameters, which is also good. And there is also basic information about the battery. And here I changed the display of the temperature of the battery parts in Celsius. Also, when you click on the temperature indicator, I understand that you can see the temperature of the batteries and power transistors. You can also turn the battery's power output on and off for charging and loading as needed. With such a separate mobile application, it is very convenient to view the battery status and, if necessary, make the necessary adjustments or check what is wrong if the battery protection is triggered. This is definitely a nice additional feature. In terms of battery voltage measurement accuracy, everything is very good and the internal Smart BMS measures the voltage accurately. Be sure to let the battery sit for about a day when you bring it back

after delivery, so that the chemistry inside returns to normal after transportation and the internal parts and sections warm up to room temperature. It is generally forbidden to charge a cold lithium iron phosphate battery, because when the battery is cold, ion exchange does not occur well and internal damage to the sections may occur. I have told and shown you everything basic about this battery. Next, I will try to

charge this battery and look at the charging process of a lithium iron phosphate battery. At the moment, these are the voltages on the sections and the battery is charged to the voltage level so that the battery can be stored for a long time. I don't have a specialized, powerful charger for lithium iron phosphates right now. I will charge this iron phosphate battery from a laboratory power supply like this. In this video, I have a 12V lithium iron phosphate battery with four series-connected sections. I set the upper limit of the charging voltage to 14. 6V, which is the voltage of a fully charged battery. But it is always recommended to charge to a voltage of 14. 4 V or even 14. 2 V. In almost fully charged lithium iron phosphate batteries, the voltage begins to increase rapidly, and the battery itself almost no longer gains energy, and a small undercharge has a positive effect on the chemistry of iron phosphates. Observing polarity, I connect the wires from the laboratory power supply to the battery terminals. Current indicators appeared and this is normal. Next, I will increase the charging current to about 7 A so as not to overload the laboratory power supply. This battery will take a long time to charge at this current. But it is recommended not to charge the first time with a high current. The application has current and power indicators. If they are without a minus sign, then the energy goes into the battery. When it comes to voltage, current, and power measurements, Smart BMS measures everything very accurately and the readings are normal. Current readings are shown in the application at currents from approximately 900 mA. The power entering or being consumed from the battery is also shown. If the energy consumption is from the battery, then a minus sign is shown for current and power. According to the readings and measurements of the battery voltage level, everything is also accurate. When connecting the wires, the voltage readings on the laboratory power supply or charger decrease slightly, which is normal. The charger will gradually charge the battery with the set current and will gradually increase the battery voltage to the set one. If this battery is completely discharged, then with a charging current of 7 A, such a capacity of 314 Agon, the charging time will be approximately 44 hours. This is for general understanding. This battery can be charged with a current of up to 200 A, preferably no more than 150 A, which is 0. 5C or a current of half the total capacity. But for less wear, it is even better to charge this battery with a current of no more than 60 A, which is 0. 2C or one-fifth of the total capacity, which is recommended for lithium iron phosphates. The battery is charging, the battery charge level gradually increases, the total battery voltage increases, and the voltages on individual battery sections gradually increase. The battery charges normally, gradually and slowly. The voltages on the sections are normal, the deviations are minimal. In the thermal imager, this is the picture, and the charging current of 7 A for this battery does not cause any heating at all. The application shows that the battery is 100% charged and the voltage is 14. 2 V. And above this voltage, there is no point in charging a four-cell lithium iron phosphate battery. Further charging of an iron phosphate battery will simply increase the voltage on the sections without a noticeable increase in capacity. The voltages on the sections are all good. The voltages of the sections are almost the same. After disconnecting the charger, the voltage on the battery sections may decrease slightly. Resting voltage level. And this is normal for lithium iron phosphate batteries. And there's no need to try to recharge it further. I also tested the battery overcharge protection and one section rose in voltage faster. then the overcharge protection for the section was triggered at the level of 3. 65 V. And the BMS board turned off battery charging and an indication appeared in the second tab. The protection is working normally. It will not work to recharge and damage the battery. This is very good. Also, if there is a deviation in the voltages of the sections, the passive balancer will work. I asked the manufacturer, and in this battery, the passive balancer works if the section voltage exceeds 3. 45 V or the voltage difference between the sections is more than 30 mV. The passive balancer works, but with such a large battery capacity, it works very slowly. And if there are discrepancies in the section voltages, then balancing can take from several hours to several dozen hours. After charging, everything works fine. This battery is charged and ready to use.

Everything is fine when it comes to discharging. You just need to connect the load, observing the polarity, and everything will work. To show you, I connected the inverter and everything works fine. In the mobile application, you can see the current and power consumed by the inverter with and without load. The inverter's idle current measured correctly, 1. 5 amps. And when connecting a 100 W incandescent lamp to the inverter, everything is correctly displayed in the application on the smartphone, also by measuring the current. The minus sign in the power and current readings indicates that energy is coming out of the battery. According to the measurements of the battery voltage under load, everything is also normal and accurate. There are slight deviations in voltage measurements due to voltage drop in the wires under load inside the battery, which is normal. I'm planning another video on the workload. There I will show everything in more detail and also talk about some points. The refrigerator starts this battery without any problems, it doesn't even feel it. I don't have an electronic load to accurately measure the capacity, but I connected an inverter and roughly measured the current consumption and operating time, so in reality this battery contains approximately 4 kW of electricity. This capacity will last me for several days in emergencies. The total internal resistance of the battery is approximately 4. 5

mΩ. Also, for the fairness of the review, I opened the battery. And this is what it looks like inside. Everything is assembled with high quality. All bolted connections are fixed. The sections are welded together with power jumpers. Wires with a margin of triple 7 AVG. The Smart BMS board is located on the side and is attached through a thermal insulation gasket. The sections are also fine. They are completely new in appearance. And here is their barcode. There are four separate sections here. And there are insulating gaskets between the sections. The sections are probably somehow tightened a little so that they are like one battery and do not move separately. The internal resistance of the section is measured to be approximately 1 m and the internal resistance of all sections is almost the same, meaning the sections are probably matched. After reviewing, I can say that I personally have no complaints about the battery. Everything is new and assembled, everything is high quality. I'll tell you more about

how the order went after delivery. Because I didn't order anything like that either and I didn't have any experience with it. I ordered everything on the website, there are different batteries with different capacities. I placed an order, it's not difficult. The main thing is to specify everything correctly upon delivery. And the ordered battery arrived to me in about three days by Nova Poshta delivery. The battery came from Poland with taxes, so at first I was charged taxes, but then when passing through Ukrainian customs, it was probably all canceled. And they brought me a battery and that's it. Maybe this information will help someone. And I didn't pay the full price for the battery right away, because I can't afford such a battery at full price right now. But for a good discount, you had to shoot a video, show the battery, and do an inspection. Well, I was interested in checking how the order goes, how it goes with delivery, and also with iron phosphates. However, there are a number of nuances that you need to know. If you need to get power up to

about 2 kW at a voltage of 220 V, then a battery voltage of 12 V is normally suitable for such a task. Personally, I am completely satisfied with the voltage of 12 V. It's easier. This is a very common voltage for which there are many different consumers. And this is a safe voltage primarily for people who do not have in-depth knowledge of energy. As for the battery itself, for its price it is a good and high-quality battery with a large capacity. It works normally, charges normally, the capacity corresponds to that specified by the manufacturer. The protections are working properly. There is convenient monitoring and control of the internal Smart BMS via a mobile application. This battery can withstand currents up to 100 A without any problems and with minimal heating. This manufacturer's website also has various batteries with different capacities. And depending on how much energy you need to store, you need to choose the right battery or several batteries. With such a battery, it is very easy to organize backup power. You need to add an inverter and a charger and it will be a good backup power source with the ability to expand, replace modules, repair, or upgrade.
