so when we switch to manage payments will be based art holding our funds for 21 days like PayPal does well let's find out in this video what's up everyone paul here from dropshipping tightens calm where I teach regular people just like you how to start their own successful dropshipping stores and we're gonna get right into the content here so if you appreciate that I would appreciate you giving this video a thumbs up so let's face it PayPal jail kind of sucks right you make your first sale on eBay you're all excited you go into your PayPal account to see your money and PayPal tells you no you can't have access to right now it's your money and they literally won't let you have it and what makes this even more frustrating is that PayPal does this for all your sales your first three months selling on ebay now spoiler alert there are ways to get your money faster than 21 days we're gonna talk about that in just a few minutes now there are good reasons that PayPal does this right they don't want you to just coming on making a bunch of money and then running away with it without actually fulfilling your orders so they want to make sure they have a hold on that money in case you don't deliver the items or in case there's any sort of returns but it still kind of sucks which is why a lot of sellers were really excited when they heard that eBay was getting rid of PayPal so does this mean that there's going to be no paypal jail any longer well effectively no that's not the case yes they are getting rid of PayPal so there's not going to be PayPal jail anymore but eBay is going to be doing the same thing so essentially we're replacing one jail keeper with another jail keeper and essentially we're now going to have eBay jail but what does this mean for existing accounts if you've been selling on eBay for years consistently month after month when you switch over to manage payments will be based art putting a hold on your funds for 21 days for your first three months of selling under managed payments after all you are brand new to manage payments but you're not brand new to selling on eBay now luckily I've asked eBay this question directly and they have said that no that's not going to happen they are able to see in your eBay account your whole selling history they've seen that you've been selling for months they see that you've been sending your items to your customers so no existing accounts that are already out of paypal jail will not enter eBay jail once they switch over to manage payments but a question that still has not been answered is what happens if an existing eBay seller with one eBay account creates a second account and starts selling on the second account will that second account then be subject to eBay holds now this is a good question because under the current system if you open a second eBay account it's still under the existing PayPal account so you can use one PayPal account from multiple eBay accounts so PayPal can see oh yeah you're selling under a new account but it's the same PayPal account so you're not going to face new seller holds like you did when you first started selling on eBay on to your first account but under manage payments you have to separate eBay accounts so will you then be subject to holt on your new eBay account now I haven't gotten an answer from eBay on this one I think the answer is likely no I think eBay knows I know this for a fact that they know when two accounts are related and when they're linked up I think they'll use that information to make sure that if you open a second eBay account that you will not be subject to that 21 hold under the new account and just because eBay is going to be placing holds on your funds for 21 days if you're a new seller doesn't mean that there aren't ways that you can get that money faster so remember the reason that eBay and PayPal are doing this they want to make sure that essentially you don't scam the buyer they wouldn't make sure you actually deliver the items to the customers so what we've seen with PayPal is that as long as you upload a tracking number and that tracking number then shows that the item was delivered PayPal will then release the funds to you about two days later and eBay has said that they're going to do the same thing or what you can do is actually have the customer go into their eBay account and click a couple buttons and acknowledge that yes they did receive the item and as long as they are happy then eBay is happy and they're going to release the funds to you faster than 21 days so this is an item I purchased earlier today from a seller who's using managed payments and the reason I know that is because during checkout and I'll put up on the screen right now a snapshot from the checkout screen you can see that there is an option here to pay with Google pay which I did and that's only available to people on manage payments and also another giveaways at the top it

says up here there are new ways to pay if you click on that it gives you an article all about manage payments but besides that once entering the credit card information it was a very seamless process as a buyer and now on this screen where I'm seeing the order as I place recently you can see I have an order here for manage payments and underneath it in order for another item from a seller who's not using managed payments and they look exactly the same but this seller on the bottom I purchased that through PayPal so let's say both of these sellers were on or in jail so the bottom ones in PayPal jail that went on tops on ebay jail now for the person on bottom all they have to do is upload a tracking number once it shows as delivered the funds will be released to them in a couple of days or I could go into my PayPal account and I would see the order in there and just click one blue button that says yes I receive this order and that would also release the funds to them now for this seller up here is a little bit different because I can't go into my PayPal account this the buyer can't go into their PayPal account to press that button now they can upload the tracking number that would work obviously but there's no similar button here on eBay that specifically says I receive the item until you go in to leave feedback so if I as the buyer was gonna leave this seller feedback I click here and then the first question that they ask is did this item arrive on time I would select yes and then do all my other ratings and leave the feedback and that would tell a bay that yeah I receive the item and you can now release the funds to the seller so the final question that I have about managed payments is will there be a way to escape eBay jail faster because currently with PayPal jail it's supposed to last for 90 days but if you sell enough items on a regular basis they won't keep you in PayPal jail for the full 90 days they'll let you out and then you'll get instant access to your funds after each sale is completed now with eBay we're not sure if they're going to do the same thing I haven't gotten an answer on this so if you've made it this far into the video that I think you're really going to love this video that I made all about how to increase your sales on eBay and how to beat sales that have slowed down on your account so if you want to learn how to do that just click right up here I'll see you in that video in just a few seconds
