is eBay dropshipping dead in 2020 what's up everyone pull here from drop shipping Titans calm coming to you today from Oberlin Ohio to answer the question what will a bay drop shipping look like in 2020 I'm going to give you my biggest prediction for all the changes happening on eBay this year and then of course answer whether you a drop shipping is dead so ebay drop shipping is a business and

like with any business things change especially with eBay because eBay like Amazon like Etsy it's a marketplace a platform that you can sell on so you're following eBay's rules and eBay can change their rules whenever they want so if we don't stay on top of these changes that's when we can fall behind we see people fall behind and that's where this kind of misconception that drop shipping is dead comes in you see for many people not everyone but for many people when they start to see success with something like eBay dropshipping a lot of people get comfortable in that and I know this because I've had this from personal experience I've done this myself you get comfortable you almost start to feel entitled to your success even if you feel too comfortable to change the way that you run your business but if these people continue to use the old systems even if the platform or the business changes then these people will not continue to see success and that's when these people give up and just proclaim that their business is dead that dropshipping is dead Amazon FBA is dead or Kindle publishing is dead we've seen that right with all of these different types of businesses Amazon changed the way reviews work and people proclaim that Amazon FBA was dead Amazon changed Kindle publishing rules and people said Kindle publishing was dead and things change with drop shipping and people say drop shipping is dead as well but yet what we continue to

see is that people continue to make money with all of these different businesses how because they adapt to changes they make things work too fit the new rules or the new changes so what worked two years ago just will not work today on eBay and what sums us up really well is his quote by Alfred Edward Perlman who said that after you've done a thing the same way for two years look at it carefully after five with suspicion and after 10 years throw it away and start all over so things are changing on eBay so I want to look forward into 2020 to predict and see what some of these changes are so that we can be ready for them so the first change I want to talk about our eBay's managed payment system so as of right now when you purchase something on eBay you buy it on eBay but then you get sent over to PayPal to actually purchase it to actually make the payment and eBay wants to make their system their platform all-in-one so you buy it and pay for it on the same website just like every other website out there like Amazon now this should streamline the process for both buyers and sellers so we will be seeing a little bit more ease going into the future because everything is in one place eBay has also promised us lower fees with this new system but as of right now it doesn't actually look like it looks like our fees could actually be higher under some circumstances it's not entirely clear so I predict this year we're gonna get a little bit more clarification about the fees for the managed payment system eBay

has also said that this will open up more payment options for buyers which will hopefully result in more sales for us as sellers but we'll have to wait and see exactly how much more now overall my prediction is that this is not going to have a huge impact on us as sellers yes it is a big move yes this is a big change but once it's finally finished I think it's not going to be that big of a deal eBay has said that this will be fully rolled out by 2021 but my prediction is as with most things at eBay it is going to take a little bit longer for them to fully implement it but if they stick to their schedule then 20 will be the year when a lot of us are going to be moving over to the managed payment system the second prediction that I have for eBay dropshipping for 2020 is that we are going to see increasingly a lot of dropshippers using more and more Chinese suppliers so right now the methods that I've always taught here on YouTube and in my course is to drop ship from us-based retailers like Home Depot and Walmart for instance and that still works I think it's going to continue to work but I think just to kind of gain access to literally hundreds of thousands of products at a really inexpensive price we are going to see a lot more drop shippers drop shipping from Chinese suppliers or Chinese manufacturers and I think that's really going to help us diversify the number of products and the types of products that were drop shipping and it's going to really allow us to work with suppliers that we have relationships with and that we can have an arrangement with a drop shipping arrangement with I do think that both of these are going to coexist the current method and more people using this these Chinese suppliers that people have been afraid to use in the past so the third

prediction that I have for eBay and eBay dropshipping involves sales tax so in 2018 we saw the Supreme Court kind of shake up sales tax here in the United States and basically put a huge burden on us as small sellers to start collecting sales tax for certain states in certain circumstances when we previously weren't responsible for that it got us really scared but in the year and a half since that ruling came out we see that it's actually not that bad because increasingly what we're seeing is that eBay is actually collecting that sales tax for us and sending it to all the states for us so they currently do that for over 30 states and in 2020 they're going to do it for more States my prediction is that if Julie probably not in 2020 but eventually eBay is going to handle sales tax for us for every single state and we don't have to worry about it at all the fourth prediction that I have is

that eBay is going to continue to struggle to roll out their catalogs system or their product or their catalog based or product based shopping experience whatever they're calling it these days they're going to continue to try to roll that out but it's not going to be fully implemented any time soon we've seen eBay promised this we've seen them say that they are dedicated to making this work even when a sellers tell them we
