The Problem

I saw this funny meme the other day and it said Wow 2019 flew by so fast I didn't even have time to lose weight now all jokes aside let's get into something serious which is why don't people accomplish their New Year's resolutions did you know that about 60% of Americans set New Year's resolutions but only about 8% actually accomplish them why is that why do we have this desire to achieve something so much that we set resolutions but never actually follow through and accomplish them whether it's something like fitness or losing weight or starting a business or relationship goal there is one fundamental problem with New Year's resolutions that I want to address in this video because I think it's about time that someone addresses this and the problem is exactly that time you see when you set a new year's resolution for yourself you are by definition giving yourself 12 whole months to accomplish it 12 months that is a long time 365 days 52 weeks that is a huge chunk of time to accomplish your goals so what we see every single year is that people start out the New Year really excited they're going to the gym they're learning how to start an online business they are you know reading books on relationships or going out to try to meet people whatever your goals are people are motivated and excited and taking action towards reaching their resolutions but as the month of January progresses we of course see less and less people continuing to follow through on these resolutions and a big problem for that is because of the length of time you give yourself see if you're giving yourself a whole year to start a business that is a long time it's easy enough to say in January well you know what I'm just gonna wait I have a whole year to accomplish this and then by the summer you completely forgotten about your resolution entirely and you don't even think about it again until the end of December and by that time a whole year has gone by and of course the same thing happens next year and the next year and before you know it a whole decade has gone by and this is

Parkinsons Law

something I struggled a lot with in the past as well see if I gave myself a whole year to accomplish a goal I either wouldn't accomplish it at all or I would just accomplish it in the last month of the year and this is called Parkinson's law basically says that the amount of work that you have will expand to fit in the amount of time that you give yourself to accomplish that goal and we've all seen this before it's like in school when you used to receive a book report whether your teacher gave you a month to complete it or two days to complete it you always did it the night before and that's Parkinson's law in effect so obviously this could be a detriment to you but you can also use it to your advantage and that's by giving yourself less time to reach your goals or your resolutions which is why I'm such a huge believer and advocate of 3-month goals or 90-day plans when you set goals for yourself for the next 90 days there is an urgency to them you don't have time to put it off until tomorrow because you only have three months to accomplish them and for those three months I recommend you only have one to at most three major goals really the less the fewer goals you have the better all in on one or two major goals and just go all for them all in with them for those three months and that's when you can really make a lot of progress throughout the year because you have four of those three month periods throughout the year you're going to get more done in 90 days then most people get done in a year and more than most people get done in a decade so what I really

Setting Goals

recommend is that you guys use some sort of 90-day goal setting system you can certainly do this on your computer but I like having a hard copy book to do it our journal rather they sell these 90 day journals on Amazon there are so many of them they're all fine just choose one of them and you can set out your whole life for the next 90 days and this also takes advantage of something else that's really important for setting goals and that's writing them down did you know that you are 42 percent more likely to reach your goals if you write them down and if you combine that with a 90 day cycle system then your chances of having success are much higher so I'll have linked up down below a journal that I use but again any 90 day journal is going to work fine and write out your goals and track them every single day for the next 90 days so look guys you have 12 months ahead of you a full year there's so much possibility so many opportunities for you this year but the last thing that I want to see for you is that at the end of the year you look back and realize you didn't accomplish anything new and you don't even remember what your resolutions even were so look get a journal write down your goals and go for it if you're ready to do something like start an online business I actually have some free trainings for you that are linked up in the description of this video if you want to learn how to drop ship on ebay this year Amazon this year use those free trainings first see if they're a good fit for you and then you can jump into a full program later if you want to but look if you're if you've talked in the past about starting an online business and a whole year has gone by and you haven't even gotten started if you've been doing that for multiple years then don't you think that this year should be the year that changes that you do something different so check out those free trainings I have for you linked up in the description of this video because again I just would hate to see because I've been there myself I hate it when it looked back on the year and say what did I even do this year how what even happened this year because in the past the answer for me was sometimes nothing so take the free training if you want get yourself a journal and start writing down your goals maybe your goal is to start your first eBay dropshipping store and you can write out I want to start a successful eBay dropshipping store that's making me X amount per month and underneath that link lists out all the different steps you need to take pulse free eBay dropshipping training you know sign up for his eBay dropshipping Titans course go through the program start implementing it step by step and go at it every single day until I reach my goals so that's what I have for you guys today I hope you have a wonderful and prosperous and successful New Year and let me know in the comment section down below what your New Year's resolutions are or rather your 90-day resolutions are and if you got some value out of this video if this was helpful for you if you've never thought about resolutions this way then give this video a thumbs up down below that lets me know that you like content like this and I'll keep making it for you guys and also subscribe to the channel for more tips about ebay amazon drop shipping and motivation like this and goal-setting as well so thanks so much for watching guys I'll see you in the next video
