eBay News - Sales Tax Relief + Seller Protection + Random Tattoo?

what's up everybody in today's video I'm gonna be giving you some updates from eBay some eBay news some new things going on with sales tax some updates regarding new policies on eBay lots of things that can help us some things that aren't going to help us so make sure to stick around for the whole video so that you guys don't miss all the news so it's currently the end of September and if you remember back in June the Supreme Court passed down a ruling that basically overhauled the entire sales tax laws for all 50 states basically saying that now us as small sellers have to start paying sales tax to a lot of these states in certain situations now I'm not going to go into the full details of exactly what that ruling meant for us as sellers if you guys don't want to miss that video I will be linking it above this one if you want to check that out first and then come back here for the update now since this Supreme Court decision in June of 2018 lawmakers in Congress have introduced a bill that would stall the implementation of sales tax for small businesses such as us until States you know simplify this process and make it easier for us to comply with it if passed this bill will also prevent States from collecting sales tax for any orders that were placed before June of 2018 not every state wants to do that but some states do now obviously there's a lot of opposition to this from the states so only time will tell if it actually gets passed but personally of course I'm hoping that it does because right now things are kind of a mess with all the different state sales tax rules and I really think it has to be simplified in related news eBay has said that they are going to start in 2019 collecting sales tax for us for three states those are Oklahoma Pennsylvania and Washington and they might add some more states now you don't have to opt in to this it's going to automatically happen next year and there's no way to opt out of it either so they're going to do this for you whether you want them to or not now some buyers are upset by this because they're saying now their buyers are going to be charged sales tax for these three states but so is every other purchase being made on eBay for those states so the playing field should be e for those so the other thing going on recently is that eBay has started to automatically approve returns they started doing this in the past for items that were buyers remorse or returns every buyer's remorse now they're starting to automatically approve all returns but there is a way to prevent this from happening I've now been able to confirm that this does work this is a video I made in December of 2017 we weren't sure if we would work with do policy but we know now that does work so if you want to check out that video that one's going to be linked up above and all these videos on mentoring mentioning are going to be linked up also underneath this video and finally eBay has announced that they are going to have seller protection for anyone who is impacted by Hurricane Florence so if you live in that area or you have a warehouse in that area and you weren't able to ship out your items on time or at all because of the hurricane well eta is gonna protect you you're gonna make sure that doesn't impact your metrics at all so that's really all the news I have about eBay if you found this video helpful make sure to give it a thumbs up if you have any Eve a news or anything else you want me to look into and make a video about leave a comment underneath this video and of course if you don't want to miss any future updates about eBay or Amazon or anything related to drop shipping make sure to subscribe to the channel thanks so much for watching and I'll see you guys next time so the other big update with eBay is that they said that they're going to you guys know Casey nice that is his office right here was that right now
