Should you stick with your CMS or switch to a landing page builder? In this video, Tas Bober, former Head of Digital for multiple B2B companies, breaks down the pros and cons of using a landing page builder vs. a traditional website builder (CMS)—specifically for B2B marketers. You’ll learn: • When your CMS might be slowing you down • Why speed, control, and experimentation matter more than ever • How a landing page builder can help you launch campaigns faster, without waiting on dev resources • Whether your team needs built-in A/B testing and drag-and-drop flexibility If you’re juggling multiple products, segments, or campaigns (and wondering how to move faster without breaking your site)—this one’s for you. Segment 1 (00:00 - 02:00)

So I was head of digital and website for a few B2B companies and when I had to weigh the decision on using a landing page builder or not, I would look at these three core areas. The first one was my CMS. And I would ask myself these questions. One, is my CMS outdated or clunky? Was it hard to make changes without a developer involved? Did I have a lot of control over the CTA, the flow, the navigation, the structure, the blocks, and how rigid was it? And if these weren't favorable, and I couldn't move quickly or have a lot of control over those components, that would make me lean towards a landing page builder. For the second area, how fast does my company move? Do we need to launch a lot of campaigns? ship a lot of pages? How many segments? How many products are we serving? And would the development team or the CMS cause us to have this huge backlog while we had to move quickly and hit those goals? So for me, if I had to ship a lot of pages and I knew that my CMS was kind of clunky, outdated, and I would just be adding to the bloat that is the site, then I'd probably want to use a landing page builder so that the teams can move very quickly. I could not rely on somebody else to create the pages. I could just do a drag and drop quickly, put something together um that matches my brand guidelines and just ship ship so we can learn. The third area is if you want to test and learn quickly. So most CMS's don't come out of the box with things like a testing tool or experimentation options and capabilities. So if you are looking at running multiple variants, you want to test multiple headlines without adding a plugin or without trying to get approval for another tool, landing page builder kind of has a lot of those components built in where you can test multiple variations, create multiple variations, send traffic to certain variations. Um you can test different experiences and see what does better and then take that back to your team and kind of learn and iterate a lot quicker. Okay, hopefully that answers the question of whether you should use a landing page builder or your CMS. If you have other questions, please ask them to me below. I'm happy to answer them for you. Until next time, see you.
