eBay ditches PayPal! eBay's Intermediate Payments Explained!

what's up everybody in this video I wanted to talk about eBay's new announcement that they are creating an all-in-one marketplace where you can both buy the products on eBay and pay for them on eBay without having to go through PayPal now they just made this announcement today so there's not a lot of information about it but I want to share what we do know about it so this seems like another one of I base attempts to make themselves look more like Amazon and in general I'm against that because I think eBay does eBay well and they should stick to that and let Amazon do what they do best but this new idea of theirs I really like if it would work so

basically what it would do is instead of having to check out through eBay and then pay on PayPal you your customers are going to pay you directly through eBay it's an all in one place it makes things much more organized now eBay did say that for a while they're still going to accept paypal payments so I'm not sure what that's gonna look like us as sellers are we gonna have to both manage a PayPal account and money on eBay and what's that gonna look like so that's something that hasn't been talked about yet so we'll have to keep our ears open about that now what we do know is that because they're gonna set up their own payment portal we're gonna have to provide eBay some additional information now we don't have to change our accounts we can keep our same eBay stores or eBay accounts but we will have to provide them with the same kind of information that you provide to PayPal when you first start your PayPal account that way they can process the payments correctly and get the payments to you now what I

really like about this is that eBay has promised that costs are going to be lower on their platform now I don't know if they're actually gonna keep that promise but let's see what happens because that would really be great for us sellers they've also promised that somehow this is going to help us as sellers reach our customers better and get better conversions so but I'm not exactly sure why that would be so this

isn't going to roll out until the second half of 2018 and they said it's gonna take years to fully implement I think they have a agreement with PayPal until like 2022 so they can't fully phase out PayPal until that time but that does seem to be their long-term goal so that's pretty
