I keep hearing people say: “don’t just copy what works—focus on psychology.” And the more I think about it, the more it makes sense. Any hook, any viral video idea—it only works because of the human behavior behind it. Social media has always been about connection, right? That hasn’t changed. So maybe the real roadmap is understanding why something connects with viewers, not just what it is. That’s what I’m testing in this zero-to-monetized journey… does that make sense to you?

Segment 1 (00:00 - 02:00)

If you're trying to go full-time as a creator, you've probably heard other people say that it's important to focus on human psychology more so than what works in other videos. And I think there's a really good reason for that. And it comes down to how you view yourself as a creator and what you think you're capable of as a creator. So, for example, any given hook or video idea that has been done before works for a specific reason. And it's more important to know why it works than what it is. Because back in the early 2000s when social media first became, you know, relevant, they called it social media because it was about making connections online. And it hasn't changed. It's still called, we still call it social media. And that is the fundamental purpose of social media is to connect with others. So understanding your audience and your viewers becomes essentially a road map for how and why and what you create. So for example, these videos right now are focusing on just simple talking points that relate to viewers who are on the same journey as me. This channel is a zero to monetized experiment. I am not monetized yet. I hope to be in the future. I want to go full-time as a creator and I'm going to be implementing strategies over time to do that. And in doing so, I get information on what topics resonate the best with my viewers and how my videos resonate with people based on the behavioral data that YouTube shows in the back end, the metrics that I get for each video. If a video gets more views, then I know that topic was more relevant. So relevance and relatability are kind of my meta strategies right now for making videos because I'm not doing anything fancy. I'm just talking to a camera. And that gives me two important variables to test across the videos that I make. If you're interested in a more developed video, a more well produced video, you can click there. That's a study that I did on a hundred of Mr. highest performing videos and why they worked, the common factors among them of how they worked. It's an interesting study. You probably would like it if you're trying to go full-time as a creator like me. — Does that make any sense?
