Calculate Distances Between Addresses In Bulk | Free Online Tool

Alright, so in this quick video I will show you a free tool that I have created that lets you calculate distances between addresses in bulk. And it's completely free and there is no signup needed. All you got to do is to go to my website here and I will of course make sure to leave this link in the description box down below. So once you are here you have basically two options.

The first option is the manual approach. That means you just simply type in your start and end address and then calculate the distances. So to show you that let me load some examples here. So here you've got your start address, then you've got your end address and to separate both you just use an arrow. Now the neat thing is this works with pretty much any address around the world. So it could be either a full address, a partial address, only a landmark, only a postal code or even geocoordinates. That doesn't really matter.

Okay so once you've filled out everything you also got a couple of more options here. So you can also decide the different mode. So how the travel time and distance should be calculated. So you've got the option between driving, walking, cycling or public transportation. Additionally you can also choose how the unit should be calculated. So even kilometers or miles and also how the travel time should be shown. So either hours and minutes, only the hours or only minutes. And on top of that you can also decide if you want to factor in the current traffic situation. So if you want to do that just toggle on this option here. Alright once everything is filled out all you got to do is to click on this button here.

Alright and there you have it. So in this result table you will now see again your start and end address and next to it you can now see the distance and also the travel time. And if you want you can also export this table here as a CSV file. Alright so when I open the CSV file this is what it looks like.

Now of course this can be a little bit tedious especially if you have many addresses. So therefore let me also show you the byte processing. Now the easiest way to use the byte processing feature is to first download the template. Alright so once you download and open the CSV file this is what it looks like. And to fill it out it is pretty straight forward. All you got to do is to input your start address and your destination and then next to it you can also decide which mode you want to use. Once that is done just save this template here and then go back to the tool. Okay back on the website all you got to do is to click on this button here. And by the way it can be also an Excel file. Then just select the template file we just saved. Alright and here you can now see everything is filled out automatically and this time we now have 10 routes. And with that all you got to do is now to press again on the calculate distance button.

Alright and just like before here is our result table now. Now this tool uses Google Maps under the hood to calculate the distance and also the travel time. Now Google Maps gives you actually 10. 000 distance calculations completely for free every month. However to keep this tool free for everyone I had to do one little limitation which is that currently you can only upload 25 routes at once. So this might be already enough for your use case. However if you need to calculate more routes then I've also created an Excel template which you can also find in the description box down below. Alright so here in the Excel template all you got to do, you guessed it already, is to input your start and end address. And once everything is filled out just click on the calculate distance button. Alright and as you can see now we've got the result right inside Excel. And just like on the website here you also got a couple of settings you can tweak. So again you can change the distance units, the travel mode, the time units and also the traffic mode. Additionally you can also now see that you can input your own Google Maps API key. Now setting this API key takes only 5 minutes and as I said Google gives you then 10. And if you go over that limit they will charge you 5$ for every additional 1000 searches. And this Excel template is a one time purchase. So you buy it once and you can use it forever. And the format of those tools are pretty similar. So to show you that let me go to the address formatter. Here once again I will just load some examples and click on clean addresses. So now as you can see you get from the messy input here a formatted address. And this once again works with any kinds of addresses and even geocoordinates. And you can even display it as a full address or also in the different components. So that means you get the street, the city, the state, the zip, the country and the latitude and longitude back. And also for all of those tools there is an Excel template so if you scroll down a little bit here you can also get the Excel tool.
